Chapter 36

Zak POV

Clay took in a breath as I peeled the tape off his mouth.

"What happened?" I asked.

He seemed out of breath for some reason, even though it seemed like he's been sitting for a while.

He began to explain what happened, "We came looking for you but we got caught. You four were put in here because there's something special about you guys. I used to be a guard here but I never supported this, that's why I tried to help you. I thought Mega had the same intentions but I guess not."

He trailed off, probably thinking about what he did to Mega. I started talking so he wouldn't get distracted, "So what's so special about us, exactly?"

"I don't know in detail. But what I do know is that there's something different about the way you guys think, or the way your brain works. So you have something that no one else does. And as far as we know, you guys are the only people who have this gift. So they're trying to figure out what it is that's different about you guys." He replied.

I knew there was a reason that we were here, but not this.

The only people in the world?

There's no way.

There's nothing different about me than everyone else.

Clay cut my thoughts short and continued, "One more thing, there's something different about you. You-"

Suddenly I was pulled backwards, I looked back and saw Dave holding onto my arm.

"You're times up." He said, giving Clay a dirty look.

Finn walked up and put tape against Clay's mouth again.

What was he going to say?
