Falling.

Is this what it's like to die? Wait no... dying hasn't been created yet, has it?

How long have I been falling?

My back is killing me. Where my wings are, it feels as though they are being torn apart. I scream and thrash around. Everything hurts. It feels like my DNA is being changed. I'm no longer (y/n), angel of the animals. I don't know what i am now.

Angels fell years before Adam and Eve. But me? I'm falling on the seventh day. The day of gods rest.

I made it tough for her. I was asking too many questions... Why were animals and the humans given reproductive organs if they were going to be the only ones to live on earth?

I finally landed with a thud at that thought. My wings were burning, but I still had them. Tears pricked my vision. Is this what it's like to be a fallen angel? Oh what are they called... demons?

I stand up slowly, putting some effort into it, and realize I had been falling for nearly thirty minutes. And now... my wings are grey. How strange... I thought. Aren't demons supposed to have black wings?

I also come to realize I can transform into an animal. Specifically a fox. I even hold the gorgeous Amber eyes of a fox.

I stayed in my fox form as I trotted around, my keen nose sniffing out good and evil... there must be a demon and an angel nearby.

I look up at the walls of the garden just as a drop of water hits my nose. Odd... On top of the large wall is an angel using his wing to cover a demon. They seem very comfortable in each other's presence.

The demon suddenly jolts into a less comfortable stance and sniffs. He looks down, straight down, right into my eyes. My amber eyes are locked with his golden serpentine eyes, captivated in their beauty...

I was frozen in awe as I stared up into his eyes. The demon winks discretely and whispers to the angel. Although I'm not sure what he said, I'm now held captive by fear. What if he told the angel I'm staring?

The demon starts to walk away as the angel stares dumbfounded at him. He then lifts his wings to the sky and saunters down to me.

"Well, you sure aren't just a normal fox, eh? Did Hell send you?" He asked.

I shook in slight fear. I had never talked to a demon... all of the stories frightened me. It is said that they are extremely vengeful toward angels and will do any means of torture...

But I'm no angel now.

I cocked my head to motion for him to follow me. I didn't want the angel to see me. I didn't even want this demon to, but he caught me staring earlier. I had no choice but to speak with him.

I led him to a hidden area by the garden and slowly morphed back into my normal form.

My (h/l) (h/c) hair slightly moved at the breeze around us. My grey wings resembled that of a swan, and bit were they sore. I tried stretching them a bit but they were reluctant as pain went through my back.

I looked up at the demon with my bright amber eyes and smiled a little.

"I'm (y/n)." I said, tilting my head as I watched the demon stare in wonder at my shimmering wings. If I didn't know any better, I'd say he was almost awe-struck.

"Crawley. What are you?" He asked, walking in a circle around me. I smirked as his serpentine eyes trailed my body. His auburn locks swaying a little more in the wind as I lightly moved my wings.

"Dangerous question, isn't it?" I lightly hit him with my wing and he walked back to my front. "Truth is, I dunno what I am. I fell today by accident, but I didn't reach hell."

Crawley made a noise in the back of his throat and nodded. I took a really good look at him, trying to etch his face into my memory before smiling.

"Ciao." Was all I said as I lifted my sore wings to the sky, ignoring the pain, and flew off quickly, quicker than I'd seen any angel go.

As I flew, I looked down at the ground for a place to find shelter. Once I found a cave, I got down on the ground and walked in, wondering if I'm still able to do the things i did as an angel.

As I was the angel who helped create animals, I could speak with them when I was still in Heaven. Maybe I still could... would they even care to speak to me now that they've been cast out of the holy land with those humans?

I shook my head and decided I'd find out eventually. For now, I must rest. I took quite the beating today. I looked around for anything soft, but when I came up short with only rocks around, I used my arm and covered myself with my wings to keep warm. Maybe I could survive this primitive land...
