Chapter 9: Revealed

Karter's POV

"So how is your first day in school?" Dad.

"it's okay"

"Haha really?"

"To be honest Dad, my first day was absolutely hell. I bumped into a weirdo, we caught students making love in the stock room, and then the weirdo is my partner for our task the whole school year! How is that supposed to be okay?"

"Well atleast she's just a weirdo, not a flirt" he giggled

"She doesn't even look like a girl"

"Maybe because she wants to stay that way" he said as he was about to drink his coffee.

"Tss whatever Dad"

"She's Zaluna right?" then he sips from the mug. Who???? What?!

"Y-you know Z-zaluna?"

"Of course, her mother, her father and your mom and I were bestfriends since highschool. I saw her during the poster making contest and I'm shocked that you two are in the same table. "

"What?!"

"Uh-huh" he sips again "Zaluna is the weirdo?"

I froze. Kukuha na sana ako ng malamig na tubig sa fridge ng nagtataka akong lumingon sakanya.

I gave my Dad the 'Wtf-face'. Is he playing with me?

"Dad, stop joking around. I'm already in a bad mood, can't you see?"

"Haha sino ba nagsabing nagbibiro ako? I'm serious, kahit tanungin mo pa ang mommy mong masungit" pagkasambit ni Daddy kay Mommy ay agad na sumulpot si Mommy sa gilid ko.

Napatalon ako ng konti dahil gulo-gulo ang kanyang buhok, pati ang make-up niya ay parang nalulusaw sa kanyang mukha. Inalis niya ang natitirang make-up sa mukha niya gamit ang facial wipes. Nginitian niya ako at sinuklian ko naman ito.

Nilambing niya si Daddy pero lumayo siya at tinarayan ni Dad si Mommy na parang nandidiri siya.

"Sino ka? Bakit ka nakapasok sa pamamahay ko?" Nang-aasar na tanong ni Daddy. Tinarayan siya ng Mommy ko at isinuksok yung ginamit niyang facial wipes sa bibig ni Dad.

Humagalpak kami ng tawa ni Mommy at si Dad naman ay natulala sa ginawa ng asawa niya.

"Babe naman e!"

"Akala ko ba hindi mo ako kilala?! Tch!" Pinagkrus niya ang mga kamay niya at siniringan ng tingin si Dad.

'Sana ol'

"Biro lang eh" niyakap niya mula sa likod si Mommy. Hindi ko na kinaya ang kahalayan na nakikita ko at tumungo nalang sa kwarto ko.

Hinagis ko ang backpack ko sa tabi ng kama at patalong sumubsob sa mga unan na nakakalat sa kama ko.

Siya si Zaluna?! Kingina!! Kaya pala parang nakita ko na siya. Siya yung katabi ko nung poster making contest. Hindi niya siguro ako nakilala kase mukha akong nerd noon. Nag-shoot kami noon ng bago kong song "Even if" yung title ng song ko. Kanta yun para sa mga taong masyadong "mababa" para sa mga taong pinapangarap nila. Na-inspire kasi ako sa love story ng Mom and Dad ko.

My Dad was a nerd when he and my mom were still in High school. Si Mom kase para siyang friends ng lahat, and Dad was a nobody, a loner, but he was always on top of class. Nagsimula sila noong valentines day, may 'Love Jail' and sila ang naging mag partner the whole day, nagustuhan ni Mom ang ugali ni Dad, and nagustuhan ni Dad ang pagiging friendly and witty ng Mom ko. So ayon, ngayon they are happily married and have two handsome and talented sons

Yes. I have an older brother.

"Hoy bumangon ka dyan, linisan mo yung kotse mong bulok" and that's my brother. He's also an artist like me, but unlike me, he wasn't home schooled since kindergarten. He's friendly and have lots of friends.
I have two bestfriends, Nathan Diaco and Sammuel Lim from Sunfel High. Their parents were my Dad's friends since college.

I was actually going to hang out with them later this afternoon. We will watch a movie with their girlfriends.

'Sana ol'

I might be handsome and all, but girls.. aren't something I want to mess with. I had a crush, yes, but I have never been into an official relationship before.

*Ding*

'They are here already?'

"Broo!" sammuel.

"Sup?" Nathan.

"Haha looks like you two are both happily inlove" i chuckled.

"Nah bro, it's just a fling" Nathan.

Ah Nathan, when will you stop playing girl's hearts?

"Haha bro don't mind this cassanova, karma will come sooner or later" Sammuel said.

"Eh ikaw bro? How's your "lovelife"? i said those words like I was disgusted.

"Tss you're just bitter lang eh! Find one na kase! Be like Nathan" Sammuel again.

"Haha never in a million years bro!
I will never play a girl's heart" I said as I re-call the look on Pauline's face earlier. Kung alam ko lang na ganon siya ka galing manloko, hindi na sana ako nagsayang ng oras para sa kanya. Although she has taught me to like someone, and I felt special whenever we chatted through calls and messages, but I think we aren't for each other.

Staring through a window,
I saw your face.

*Pause*

"Whoa, that's deep" Samuel.

"That's the first scene in the music video" I said. That's why I look like a nerd during the contest.

"That's fire bruh, you will obviously earn more fangirls and fangays just in 30 seconds in this video. Kung medyo gumanda lang boses ko kahit konti e, edi sana sikat na ako worldwide" He said habang uma-action na parang bidang lalaki sa kdrama na feel na feel yung pagkanta niya.

"In your dreams, bro haha kahit sa isang barangay hindi ka sisikat" sinamaan ng tingin ni Sam si Nathan

"F you bro, f you"

"Paanong f?"

"F as in Fame, Fame you. Sikat ka diba?!" palusot ni Sammuel.

*Face palm*

Corny..

"Hoy bakit hindi ka parin bihis Karter? Ikaw yung artista samin tapos ikaw ka yung nagmukhang P.A. namin?" Sammuel.

"So? That's the point, I'm an artist, I don't want to be recognized in public, asshole" We all laughed and went into Nathan's van.

"Van pa ba 'to pre? Club na ito e"
Sammuel said. Muntik ng lumuha ang mga mata ko. Andaming babae na halos wala ng saplot.
 

"Choose your Pokèmon" Nathan said as if the girls inside were Pokémons. That's it.  I have enough of this.

"fuck this asshole" I whispered "are you kidding me Nathan?"

"What? Minsan lang magsaya e"

"Then do it the nice way, don't use girls to satisfy your pleasure" I walked away from my friends and went back to bed.
