Dan's POV
Finally he got up from the bed to go make breakfast. I began thinking to myself... What was it about that damned dream that was destroying my mind so badly? Was it an internal fear of fire? Was it the creepiness of the unknown? Was it just that I couldn't help Phil...?
I loved that boy. I loved him with all my heart. He always told me how happy I made him after that first day we met. But... In my dream I couldn't save him like I had in real life...
"Waffles are ready!"
He exclaimed, carrying in a large tray of breakfast foods. Mainly waffles.
I sat up in bed.
"Oh, Phil, you didn't have to do all this..."
"Well I wanted to. So eat up."

That afternoon Phil took me out to a movie. I could tell he was worried about me. And you could say I was still a bit disturbed by the dream. But I had him. And it after all, it was all in my head, right?
So I put on a smile and had a nice time.
All night I tried to control where my mind went. But I just couldn't.
At first I was just having silly daydreams about us like I usually do. But then... About halfway through the movie... I began to stare over at Phil. I observed all of his features a bit more closely than I had before. His sweet blue-green eyes... His messy hair... And... His smiling pink lips...
What would happen, I wonder... If perhaps just a second I could my lips on his...
Whoa what?
Did I even just think that...?
Ah, oh well. The heart wants what the heart wants.
My mind drifted far away from the movie and where I was. Suddenly we were on the beach... Just the two of us...
Staring out at the endless blue ocean, I smiled. Turning to Phil, I admired how the color of his face had come to match the pink/orange of the beautiful sunset in front of us. He looked over at me.
"Wanna go for a walk?"
"Sure."
We walked close together over the sand and shells all the way down to the other end of the beach.
"Let's lay down for a while."
He said, laying out a blanket.
We both laid down on the soft blanket and stared up into the darkening sky.
"Isn't it beautiful?"
I said, my voice hardly above a whisper.
"Yes."
But his face wasn't towards the sky.
"Are you even looking at the sky, Phil?"
"No."
"Then what the hell are you-"
I glanced over at him to see he was on his side... And staring directly at me.
His blush intensified.
"Oh... You are too much."
I said laughing and turning over on my side to look at him.
He reached behind him and grabbed something.
"Hold out your hand."
"Um... Alright."
I did as he said.
A red rose was then placed in my open hand.
"Oh my gosh Phil... That's so beautiful..."
I scooted closer to him and gently leaned into his smiling face...
"Dan!"
"HUH?!"
I was jolted out of my extremely cheesy daydream by Phil shaking my arm.
"The movies over. C'mon. "
He said, standing up and grabbing his coat.
