Madam Pomfrey was a nice woman, but very strict.

"Just five minutes." Harry pleaded.

"Absolutely not."

"You let Professor Dumbledore in." Y/N pointed out.

"Well, of course, that was the Headmaster, quite different. You both need rest."

"We are resting, look, lying down and everything. Oh, go on, Madam Pomfrey..."

"Oh, very well," she said. "But five minutes only."

She let Ron and Hermione in.

"Y/N! Harry!"

Hermione looked ready to hug the both of them again, but held herself in, to both boys immense relief.

"We were sure you two were going to - Dumbledore was so worried -"

"The whole school's talking about it," said Ron. "And oddly enough, Y/N's name isn't heard in any of the rumors... Its just Harry, Harry, Harry..."

Y/N grinned a little. "I'm happier that way to be honest. I've always hated attention."

"What really happened?"

It was one of those occasions when the true story is always more strange and exciting than the rumors. Harry explained to the three of them how he had seen Quirrell by the Mirror of Erised, how Quirrell had confessed that it was him who was behind Harry's broom going haywire, and Snape was actually muttering a counter-curse to save him, because he owed a debt to Harry's father.

Ron gasped when Harry had told them what was under Quirrell's turban, Hermione actually screamed.

After that, it was Y/N's turn. He explained to them how Dumbledore had taken him back down to the chambers, explained Snapes innocence, and, once they had reached the room behind the black fire, he had taken a glimpse of Voldemort himself, and heard his final words before his host crumbled to dust.

"That's messed up..." Ron said, and Hermione was white with shock. "So the stone's gone? Flames just going to die?"

"That's what Dumbledore said." said Harry.

"I still don't understand something though," Y/N said. "Why did Dumbledore want me to come with him? He said I'd be needed, but I didn't exactly do anything... well, apart from check Harry's pulse... but he could have done that himself..."

"D'you think he meant you to do it? Sending you your dad's cloak and everything?" Ron asked. "And taking Y/N with him back down the chambers?"

"Well," Hermione exploded. "if he did - I mean to say - that's terrible - both of you could've been killed."

"No, it isn't," said Harry thoughtfully. "He's a funny man, Dumbledore. I think he sort of wanted to give us a chance. I reckon he had a pretty good idea of what we were going to try, and instead if stopping us, he just taught us enough to help."

"It was almost as if..." Y/N said. "he wanted me to see Voldemort for myself..."

"Yeah, Dumbledore's barking all right." said Ron proudly.

At that moment, Madam Pomfrey bustled over.

"You've had nearly fifteen minutes, now OUT," she said firmly.

After a good night's sleep, the two boys felt nearly back to normal.

"Can we go to the feast?" Harry asked Madam Pomfrey as she straightened his many sweet-boxes. "Please?"

"Professor Dumbledore says you're allowed to go." she said sniffily. "And you have another visitor."
