Chapter 12

Peter's POV

"We're going to a cafe." I said when Chloe asked where we were going.

"That's it?" She asked.

"Well me and my friends are pretty chill after the whole Mysterio thing, which I'm still trying to figure out."

"And I'm sure you will." She said grabbing my arm as we walked down the sidewalk to the cafe.

My phone rang from inside my pocket and I grabbed it. It was a text message from Ned.

"Ned says him and MJ are already at the cafe."

"Ok. I can't wait to meet your friends. Chloe says excitedly. "We're gonna be the best friend quartet ever." She said squeezing my arm.

"Might want to get a bit more excited because we're here." I said as I looked at MJ and Ned through the glass of the window.

I opened the door for Chloe and led her to my friends.

"Hey guys." I said walking up to Ned and MJ.

"Hey." Ned began. "Who's this?" He asked pointing to Chloe.

"Oh!" She said somewhat startled. "Hi!" She said vigorously shaking Ned and MJ's hands. "Charles. Chloe Charles."

"Hi. I'm Ned and this is MJ." 

I patiently looked at MJ waiting for a sign that she disliked my idea of bringing Chloe along. I'm not scared or anything. Well, I guess I'm a bit scared. But it's only because I like 2 girls at one time. One of them being my girlfriend. The other being a close friend.

 I want Chloe and MJ to be friends. Then I wouldn't have to worry about them competing for me. Everything would be find. 

"Hi." MJ said.

"So!" I sighed. "Should we order?"

"Yes. We should do that." Chloe said pointing at me.

"Uh. You girls sit down for a bit. Get to know each other. Peter and I will get the drinks." Ned said.

"You know, Ned this is a café. Which means we can order coffee. And bagels. How do and Peter even know what Chloe and I want?" MJ said. 

"Uh." Ned stuttered. 

"I'm just kidding." MJ said shifting in her seat. "Just get me a mocha."

"Umm water for me, please." Chloe said looking up at me.

"Ok. We'll be right back." I said. 

Their voices slowly faded as Ned and I got closer to the counter.

As we waited for a cashier to come and take our order we looked at the girls and talked.

"What we're you thinking?!" Ned whisper shouted as he hit my arm. 

"Ow!" I said as I grabbed my arm in pain. "What do you mean?"

"If you know what predicament you're in, why would invite Chloe to come hang out with us?" 

"Ned, she just got back from Russia. I'm the only friend she has right now. I couldn't leave her by herself." 

"I'm sure she would've had a nice time with May."

"Dude, why are you so  hung up on this?" I asked.

"I just don't want to see you get hurt, Pete. That's all."

"Ned, I won't get hurt. I promise. I'll figure this out."

We did our handshake and just as we finished a cashier came to take our order.

"Hi, 1 water, 2 mochas, and a frappe." I said.

"Coming right up, sir."

"I'm sure everything will go fine." I said. "All I have to do is keep my feelings for Chloe hidden from MJ and keep my relationship with MJ hidden from Chloe."

"That's a lot of hiding things from one of the 2 most important girls in your life." Said Ned. "Are you sure you want to lie to MJ? Remember if she figured out that you're Spider-Man she can figure out if you're lying."

"I got this, Ned." I said as I paid for our drinks. "Hopefully, it'll be a piece of cake."

"Hopefully." Ned said as we walked back to the girls.
