Chapter 15

That night Chloe told me everything. How her parents didn't want her. How they never visited her. Her parents just... left her there. She also told me how they have someone called 'The Master'.

We stayed up all night talking about Chloe's time in Russia. Judging by how she described some things she seemed miserable.

"It's very beautiful. But also very horrible." She told me.

"Well, you don't need to think about Russia anymore." I told her, "You're here. With me and May. You're safe. Nothing can hurt you."

Chloe and I sitting on my bed, our backs against the wall, Chloe's head on my shoulder.

"Look." I said looking down at her. She kept her eyes on the closet across from us. "I'm going to the Avengers compound tomorrow. I'm gonna see Happy-"

She interrupted me by snickering at the name.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing." She said smiling at the closet.

"No. Tell me. What is it?"

"Nothing." She repeated. "Continue what you were saying."

"I'm gonna go see Happy tomorrow." I repeated, watching her smile grow. "Tell him about my status, what's been going on with me since Mysterio. I'll let you meet him and some other Avengers and give you a fresh start. You know, meeting new people, trying to make new friends. Ok?"

"Ok." She said softly finally looking up at me.

I looked at her and we just stayed like that for a bit. Looking into each other's eyes.

Slowly she turned her head back to the closet.

"We should get some sleep." I said starting to slowly move away.

"No no no. Stay." Chloe said grabbing my arm. "We don't have to go to sleep just yet. Just stay for a bit longer."

"Ok." I whispered sitting back down beside her.

We got back in our previous position and just stayed like that. Staring at the wall.

God knows how long we were like that.

I woke up still next to Chloe. We must've fell asleep.

I rubbed my eyes and looked down at Chloe. She's still asleep.

I put my arm around her shoulder and carefully laid her down on the bed.

I knew she was going to be asleep for a bit longer. I walked out of my room and into the kitchen for breakfast.

Of course, May was already there.

"Hey!" She said. "How did you sleep?"

"Not the best. Me and Chloe fell asleep against the wall. So my back kind of hurts but it's fine."

"Listen, I know this whole 'thing' is hard for you but you can't just sit there and cheat." May said harshly.

"Who said I was cheating?" I asked.

"Peter Parker, you need to choose. You can't keep lying to these girls because it's going to end up hurting one of them or both of them. MJ or Chloe? Now."

"May, I need more time. I still don't know if Chloe and MJ even like each other. I don't want to hurt them and you know that. Just please give me more time." I pleaded.

"Peter, you know I'm not putting a timer on you. I just don't want to see these girls get by you. A sweet boy." She said grabbing my cheeks.

"May." I whined.

She smiled and started walking away.

"Oh and when Chloe wakes up we're going to the Avengers Compound to talk to Happy. I need to ask him what to do about Mysterio." I said.

"Yeah ok." May said.

She started walking back to her room and I sat down at the counter. And I started thinking.

What if going to Happy doesn't work? What if it only makes everything worse. I need to win these people back not push them farther away.

"What would Mr. Stark do?" I whispered to myself.
