"Payback?" you sputter, then scoff. "I don't know who you think I am, but I don't kill."
"Aw, c'mon! It'll make you feel better I promise," he flashes a smile, "it helps me when I'm down."
Of course it helped him, he was insane! You can't just kill a guy whenever you felt like shit, and it still applies to some immortal, too.
"I think I'll just pass, thanks, though." You begin to walk away, finished with whatever conversation this was.
"I never said you could leave," his darker tone stopped you just as you took another step towards the door, "kill me."
You shook your head, and wrapped your hands across your waist, clutching either side in comfort. You hated this. Toby's voice had the power to keep you planted and scared out of your mind.
"I'm not asking, anymore. Kill me, and you can leave." he walks over, and you hear a switchblade flick open.
"...No," your voice quaked, but he still walked towards you.
He spun you around, and held out the blade.
"Do it." his neck cracks, and he urges you to take it.
You stood there, hands gripped tightly around your sides. It was impossible. You couldn't do it. Toby took your hand gently, and bore into your eyes, trying to ease your mind.
"It'll be okay, it's only me. Don't you want to get something back after I killed you?" he spoke with a soft voice, his stutters and softer sounds almost made you melt.
With a reluctant reach, you grab the handle. Your eyes flickered from the blade to Toby. This was ridiculous, you weren't going to kill a man for revenge!
"Toby, I'm not going to do this. I can barely get myself killed let alone kill someone else. Here," you urge Toby to take his knife back, "I won't do it."
Rather than taking it, he retracts your arm, and aims your arm towards his solar plexus. He grabs you by the shoulders, and smiles. Your heart immediately melts, his smile could but a thousand suns to shame.
"Again, it's no longer a suggestion." Toby acts so quickly you have no time to react.
His hands slide behind your shoulders and onto the back of your arm, just above your elbows. He grips tightly while leaning in, placing his lips onto yours. Toby kisses you for a solid minute, but you begin to feel a bitter taste from his lips.
All this time, you were so focused on his enchanting lips, you failed to notice the knife making its way into Toby's chest. He didn't even react!
You wipe your lips, and notice blood smeared across your palm. Toby smirks, and reaches back into the bed to lay down. You stand there, mouth agape, mind racing. What did you just do? Were you so blinded by his kiss that you didn't feel the blood all over your hands? You run your hands through your hair, surely spreading blood, and rest the tangled fingers on your neck. What have you done?
"This was supposed to help you, but I'm starting to think I have also won here..." he coughs up blood between his ticks, and nonchalantly wipes it away, "...I took advantage of you as you did to me with that lethal kiss of yours." he laughs, easily removing the knife plunged into his chest.
You run out the door, leaving him alone to die. You hear his laugh ring through the house even as you slam the bathroom door shut. This didn't happen. You couldn't have killed him! You weren't a killer, it wasn't your thing.
Your mind raced with thousands of thoughts, suggestions and screams alike, but one particular question shone through:
Why did you like the rush?
