Bella drove to the Corner Cafe where we were meeting our dad.
When she stopped, we got out and Mike went to talk to her. I went ahead. As soon as I sat down, Bella walked in, sitting next to me.
"Sorry we're late," Bella said. "Biology project."
"I ordered you the spinach salad," my dad said. "I hope that's ok."
"You should order one for yourself next time," Bella joked as the waitress came over with our food. "Cut back on the steak."
My dad put his newspaper. "Hey, I'm as healthy as a horse."
"Uh, chief," the waitress said. "The boys want to know. Did you find anything down by Queets River today?"
A group of older men at the table next to us turned to look at my dad.
My dad sighed before answering. "We found a bare human footprint. But it looks like whoever it is, is headed east so Kidsep County Sheriff is gonna take over from here. Ok?"
"Ok," the woman said. "I just hope they catch them fast."
I bit the inside of my lip as I sat there. It's vampires. I want to tell my dad, but I can't.
The waitress left and the men turned away from us and began talking amongst themselves.
I took a bite of one of my carrots.
"Looks like your friends are flagging you," my dad said.
Bella turned to see Mike shaking his butt near the window. Bella looked away, uncomfortable.
"It's ok," my dad said. "If you wanna go join them. I'm gonna turn in early anyway."
"Me too," Bella said.
"Bella, it's Friday night," my dad said. "Go out. Looks like the Newton boy's got a big smile for ya."
I held back a smile as I continued to eat my food.
"He's a good buddy," Bella said.
"How about any of these other yahoos in town?" My dad asked. "Anybody interest ya? How about you Blake?"
I knew he was going to ask that.
"Dad, we're gonna talk about boys?" Bella asked with a small chuckle.
"Yeah, I guess not," my dad said, chuckling as well. "I just, um, feel like I leave you two alone too much. You should be around people."
"I don't really mind being alone," I said. "I guess I'm kind of like my dad in that way."
"Me too," Bella said.
My dad smiled before cutting into his steak.

It's later now, and I'm just sitting on my bed, reading when I hear a clicking sound. I put my book down and listen. It happens again on my window.
I put my book down and get out of bed, walking to my window. When I open it and look outside, I see Emmett. I smile. He smiles back before jumping and coming through my window, gracefully.
"Hey stranger," he said.
"Hey."
"What are you up to?" Emmett asked.
He looks good right now. He's wearing a t-shirt and a pair of sweats and yet he still manages to pull it off.
"Well, I was reading until you decided to show up."
He smirked. "Why doesn't that surprise me?"
I smiled before going back to my bed.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"I wanted to see you," he said. "I like talking to you. And I've come to notice that you don't talk much unless you're with me; makes me feel special."
I smiled. "Nice observation."
Emmett just shrugged. He climbed into bed with me and laid beside me. This is giving me deja vu from yesterday; except we switched sides. Emmets on my left instead of my right.
***
"Is there anything else you can do?" Emmett asked with a light chuckle.
I just told Emmett I can burp my ABC's backward and he loved it.
I just smiled. "You'll just have to wait and see."
He smirked. "You know, I like your messy hair."
I blushed. "Why?"
"It's kind of cute."
I blushed even more and turned my head away from Emmett.
"Why are you blushing, Arizona?" Emmett asked. I could hear the smirk in his voice.
I didn't say anything as I turned my head to face Emmett. My heart stopped when I noticed how close our faces were. They were about 6 inches apart, maybe less.
Emmett slowly crept closer. I didn't dare move away as he sat up a bit so his face was above mine.
"Can I?" The boy asked softly.
I nodded slightly. I closed my eyes as Emmett slowly closed the gap between us.
When our lips met, I felt my heart stop.
It wasn't anything huge, but it was much needed. He kissed me slowly as if I was made of glass and would break at any second.
I kiss back, blushing as I did so.
When the kiss ended, Emmett pressed his forehead to mine.
"You don't know how long I've waited to do that," he said.
I smiled a little. "Were you able to control yourself?"
Emmett told me that when he's kissed others, he wasn't able to control himself. And, seeing as I'm his blood singer, it would've been much harder to control himself.
"I did," Emmett said. "It was like you calmed me."
I smiled. "I calm you?"
"I guess so."
Emmett laid on my bed, pulling me on top of him so my head rested on his chest.
"This is nice," I mumbled.
"Yeah."
I felt my eyelids become heavy and, before I knew it, I had fallen asleep.

I hope you guys liked this chapter. I just want to say, I may not be updating on Wednesday and Thursday because I'm probably going to my dad's and his wifi isn't very good. If I'm going, I'll post three chapters on Tuesday. And, if I say longer than that, I'll have the chapters ready for when I get back home. Though, if his wifi decides to work, I'll post at the regular time.
Anyway, that's all for now. I'll see you guys soon.
Buh-bye.
