"Happy birthday," I heard my dad say.
I looked at him and smiled. "Oh, no."
"Um, your mom and I coordinated," my dad said. "Well, she coordinated me."
He handed me a black camera and a wrapped present. I opened it to reveal a scrapbook.
I looked at my dad, an eyebrow raised.
"It's so you can take pictures during your senior year."
"This is great," I said. "Thanks, Dad."
He smiled. "Happy birthday."
I watched him walk out of my bedroom. I gathered my things, including my camera, before heading to the truck.
It's my week to drive. Another thing, it's getting harder to pretend to be human with my dad around so it's a good thing I'm moving in with the Cullen's. All my dad knows is that I'm going to be moving in with them. He wasn't too happy about Emmett and I living in the same house and not being able to see what we were doing, but he eventually said it was ok.

I park at the school and get out of the truck.
Ever since the whole fiasco with James, my friends haven't been talking to me as much and I don't know why.
"Lover boy's here," I hear Bella say.
I smile and turn around to see Emmett walking this way. God, he's perfect.
"Hey," I say when he reaches me.
"Hey," he says back, pulling me into a quick kiss. "Happy birthday."
"I didn't even get to turn 18," I said.
"Well, at least you'll have a million more birthday's and you'll still be as amazing as the day we met," Emmett said, hugging me.
I hugged back. Emmett can comfort me without even trying.
"Did you have another nightmare?" He asked.
I nod. "Everytime I close my eyes, I see his face. Every single time."
Emmett pulls away from the hug and looks me in the eyes. "Blake, he's gone, ok? You don't have to be scared. What we have to do, though, us figure out what your ability is."
Emmett and I walked, hand in hand, into the school. "Well, I think its power absorption."
"Why do you think that?" Emmett asked.
"Well, I had accidentally bumped into Edward and I, like, read his mind."
Emmett's eyebrows furrowed. "Huh."
"Yeah. Weird right?"
Emmett nodded. The Cullens and I have been trying to figure out what power I have since I became a vampire because ever since Carlisle touched my hand when he was checking up on me, I've been able to resist human blood and that was three days ago. It's almost like everytime I touch someone, I can mimic some of their powers, but it's doesn't seem to affect them. It also only happens with vampires, aka the Cullens. So far, I'm not sure about humans, seeing as they don't have powers or their powers are buried away because they're human.
Emmett and I walked through the halls.
"Blake!" I heard Alice say. I watched as she jumped over the railing from the second floor. The pixie-haired girl pulled me into a hug. "Happy birthday!"
I smiled. "Thanks." I chuckled when I pulled away from the hug. "I bet Bella gave you a hoot about it, didn't she?"
Alice nodded with a smile. "Yeah."
