Just then, the phone rang and Bella's face fell; it's Charlie again. My sister took a step forward, leaving Edward's embrace. "Is that Charlie?"

"He's been calling twice a day," Edward said.

"He's in pretty rough shape," Jacob added.

"Eventually we'll have to tell him you...didn't make it," Carlisle said.

Bella didn't say anything. "He needs to mourn, Bella," Edward said.

Bella nodded. "Ok, we'll do it tomorrow."

"I'm gonna miss this place," Emmett said, standing up from his chair.

"We'll come back," Carlisle stated as he typed away on his iPad. "We always do."

"Wait...nobody said anything about leaving," Jacob said.

Carlisle looked at the boy. "Once we tell people Bella's dead, we can't risk anyone seeing her."

Jacob looked at Bella, a slight look of anger on his face. "So you'll just...disappear?"

"Jacob, we don't have another choice," Edward said.

***

"These'll irritate your eyes at first," Alice said as she put contacts in Bella's eyes.

Jacob had went to my dad's house and showed Charlie what he was and told him that Bella's fine. Also, it turns out he's going to be here in less than ten minutes.

"The main thing is not to move too fast," Carlisle said, stepping forward.

"Try taking a seat, crossing your legs," Esme added. Bella stood up and sped to a chair on the other side of the living room. "Maybe a tad slower."

Carlisle held up his fingers, showing a small space between them as he smiled.

"And blink at least three times a minute," Alice added. Bella blinked, rapidly. "Good."

"For a cartoon character," Jacob mumbled.

"Hold your breath," Carlisle added. "It'll help with the thirst."

"Just don't forget to move your shoulders so it looks like you're breathing," Edward said.

"And don't sit so straight," Rosalie said. "Humans don't do that."

Bella slouched in her seat before standing up. "Ok, I got it; move around, blink, slouch."

The sound of my dad's car captured out attention. I grabbed Emmett's hand. "Let's go," I mumbled.

He intertwined our fingers as I led him out of the living room I to his old room. "You know, I'm glad we're not moving."

"Why's that?" Emmett asked.

"I'd be leaving my friends and family behind if I did and I don't think I could do that," I answered. "So, I'm glad Jacob did what he did."

Emmett wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him. I wrapped my arms around his enormous frame and let out a sigh.

"I love you, Emmett," I mumbled into his chest. "I feel like I don't say it enough."

"You don't have to say it, Blake," Emmett said. "I love you too."

***

My dad and I said our goodbyes before he drove home.

"Well done, Bella," Jasper said. "I've never seen a newborn show that kind of restraint."

"I'm not sure she is a newborn," Emmett said, with a smirk. "She's so...tame."

"Emmett, don't antagonize her. She's the strongest one in the house," Edward said.

"I'd take Edward's advice if I were you, Emmett," I said as I walked to the steps, a smirk on my face.

Emmett cracked his knuckles, scoffing. "Please."

***

Emmett carried a huge boulder, dropping it between him and Bella. They got ready for their arm wrestling contest wen Edward spoke. "Don't hurt yourself, Emmett."

"My money's on my sister," I said. "Sorry, babe."

He just rolled his eyes.

"Alright, on three," Jasper announced. "One...two... three!"

They started going at it. I could tell Emmett was straining himself, trying to push Bella's arm down, but he was losing. Emmett groaned as he kept trying but it didn't work because Bella beat him, breaking the boulder in the process. I smirked, high-fiving my sister.

"Did you see that?" Bella asked, looking at Edward as she smiled. She then proceeded to smash the rock up. I walked up to Emmett, putting a hand on his shoulder.

"Looks like I bet my money correctly," I said. He just rolled his eyes.

***

Renesmee's growth is quick. In the few weeks she's been alive, she already looks as though she's six or seven. Everyone is worried how long we'd have with her.

***

"Tanya convinced Irina to come reconcile with us," Carlisle stated as he hung up the phone.

Irina had seen Bella, Renesmee, and Jacob while they were out. "Well, it looks like she changed her mind," Edward said.

"Seeing Jacob must've been too much for her," Esme said.

"I wish I could've just spoken to her," Bella said.

Carlisle leaned back against the couch. "She's family." He wrapped his arms around Esme. "She'll come around."

***

"Uncle Blake," I heard Renesmee say from behind me. I was sat on the couch with Emmett so I couldn't see her until she came around. "Can I ask you something?"

I nodded, patting a spot next to me. She sat down beside me. "What do you want to ask me?"

"How did you become a vampire?" She asked, curiously.

I smiled. "Well, a few years ago, this man tried to hurt your mom when she was human. She had snuck out and went after him herself, so I followed her. The man had bit me, but the venom spread before it was too late and I became a vampire."

Renesmee tilted her head slightly to the side. "What happened to the bad man?"

"Well, your Uncle's Jasper, Ray, and Emmett killed him. Now, he can't hurt anyone else."

She smiled. "That's good."

I nodded with a smile as well. "Yes, it is."

We continued talking, the three of us. Renesmee has been especially close to me ever since she was born. Personally, I think it's because I'm her biological family.
