After leaving Tyler at his apartment and a discussion that took over 30 minutes between Jordan and Trent because she clearly didn't want to do anything for her birthday, they do realize they spend a lot of time fighting, but they rather fight with each other that spend a single piece of mind with somebody else.
In the end, Trent convinced her that he would do whatever she wanted, Jordan couldn't think of one thing that she has ever wanted to do: a karaoke bar.
So, there she is. Dressed up with a fisherman hat, glasses that glow in the dark and a shiny scarp around her neck while singing Oasis in front of a crowd of drunk men who sing along with her and Trent is seating on the bar as he stares at her.
"You are my wonderwall!" Jordan screams the lyrics while she is holding the microphone and everyone in the bar sings along drunkenly.
Trent denies with his head as he watches her go over every line of the song as she keeps pointing at him.
"C'mon mate!" She yells while walking towards him and dragging him to the small stage. "Today was gonna be the day but they'll never throw it back to you," She keeps singing but Trent is actually shy enough to not sing along. "By now you should've somehow, realized what you're not to do," She finishes and puts the microphone for him to continue."I don't believe that anybody," He awkwardly says and she laughs, he doesn't even know the lyrics.
Jordan takes the microphone back to her. "Feels the way I do, about you now," She smiles at him and winks before pushing him away to keep singing the song like if it was written by her. The boy keeps staring at her, hopefully, she meant those lyrics.
Once the song is over and she bows at the crowd applauding her, she sits next to Trent at the bar. "That was awesome!" She yells at him and takes his beer to give a sip.
"Good show," He smiles at her.
"What's up with you?" She frowns noticing he seems a little down.
"Nothing,"
Jordan raises a brow at him. "We can head out now, you must be tired after the game,"
He just nods in agreement, he is tired but from his mind overthinking everything. He gets up from the bad followed by Jordan, who casually grabs his hand while they walk through the party, making him even more confused.
"You had fun?" He wonders as soon as they are finally outside and almost reaching his car.
"Yes," She replies like a little girl. "Thank you," She grins at him and he just gives her a soft smile before they get inside his car. "So, there is something you should know,"
"What?" He frowns.
"You shouldn't drive me home, so, as soon as we near my neighboorhood I walk home," She states.
"What? Are you insane?"
"No, like literally, you can go with this car to my neighborhood at this time, it's dangerous," She responds.
"Oh, but you can walk?" He retorts.
"Yes, because it's my neighborhood and I know everyone,"
"Yeah, sure you know every rapist there," Irony can be heard in his voice.
"Well, you insisted on doing something, it's not my fault!"
"Now, it's my fault?"
"No, but it's not my fault either that I live in such a dangerous place," She shrugs. Trent denies with his head and starts driving anyway. "Excuse me, where are we going?"
"My house,"
"What? No,"
"There are enough rooms for you to stay, just don't fight it," He responds frustrated while turning up the volume on the radio making Jordan sigh out loud.
Fifteen minutes later, Jordan notices that Trent is actually struggling while driving. "For fuck sake," He spats and she jumps in her place, she then notices how he pulls to the side of the road and the car stops completely. Trent looks for her eyes and he looks tired and frustrated.
"Don't worry, I'll take a look," She tries to calm him down as she opens the door and lets herself out in the pouring rain.
From the inside, Trent opens the hood for her to take a look. After a few minutes of her looking through it, she closes the hood and jumps inside the car.
"What is it?" He asks as he stares at her, she is almost shaking of cold because all of her clothes are soaked wet.
"Did the car started to shake for you when you were driving it?"
"Yeah,"
"Okay, it's a problem with the heating so, turn it off for the rest of the drive and tomorrow morning we'll take it to the workshop,"
He nods but before starting the car, he takes off his hoodie to give it to her. "You are going to die of cold," He sighs worriedly.
"It's fine, keep that," She tries to stop him.
"No, Jordan, put it on," He demands.
"No, Trent you are the footballer, you are the one who's life is important not mine," She tries to joke but she is actually being serious.
"What is that supposed to mean?" He spats and gives her his hoodie.
"It's a joke, Trent," She sighs as she hugs herself.
"You need to stop doing that," He states annoyed.
"What? Telling jokes?" She laughs and he denies sighing while driving. "I know, people like me are hard to love." She whispers as she stares through the window.
