Chapter: F I V E

“I know for sure that I wouldn’t be able to survive without my baby” –Tavi

I woke up the next morning to the sound of Addison knocking on the master bedroom door. I removed my head from Rashad’s chest and walked over to get the door. When I opened it up she barged in and jumped on the bed.

“Mommy, someone is at the door,” She said grabbing the remote and turning on the TV.

“Okay,” I mumbled, “And don’t be too loud, Rashad is trying to sleep,” I warned her before walking out of the room and down the stairs.

The door bell rang and I quickened my movement and opened the door to see Loren smiling at me.

        “Hey,” She greeted me.

I stepped aside and let her into the foyer, “Why in the hell are you here so early?” I asked with amusement in my voice.

“First of all it’s twelve o’clock,” She laughed, “And secondly, I have a lot planned for Addison today so I wanted to get started as soon as possible,”

I nodded, “Alright, well lemme go get her dressed really quick,” I replied running up the stairs.

I got Addison showered and dressed and packed her an over night bag for Loren. Although Loren and myself have never gotten along the way we’re supposed to, I still let her be apart of Addison’s life. She’s her only aunt and I want her to be able to have someone that’s apart of Shayne’s family around her. Also, I don’t have siblings so it’s not like she has real aunts and uncles.

Once I got Addison dressed we walked down the steps and Loren was still standing in the foyer on her phone.

“Loren!” Addison yelled running over to her and giving her a big hug.

“Hey pretty, I missed you,” Loren cooed, “You ready to go?”

Addison nodded and headed towards the door.

“When will you have her back?” I asked holding the door open as Loren stepped out and Addison ran to her car.

“I’ll have her back at this same time tomorrow,” She responded.

I nodded, “Okay, Love you,” I yelled to Addison before closing the door.
