Chapter: T W E L V E
“It’s hard trying to prove to myself that what he said isn’t the truth when I know it is,” –Tavi
Sandra gasped as I finished telling her every juicy detail about last nights date with Cole. I got butterflies all over again just reminiscing about his touch and the way he handled me. I’m proud that I was able to walk away from him without getting myself into something I can’t control. I just know next time might not be so easy, if there’s even a next time.
“I can’t believe you let him do that,” Sandra laughed, “You really took Stephanie’s advice serious,”
I shook my head, “Not exactly because we didn’t have sex, we just had a little fun,”
“Mhm,” She side eyed me.
We grabbed our Starbucks off the counter when the lady called our order number. It was a busy morning in the airport and I needed something to keep myself woke for the rest of the day. I know I won’t have a single moment to myself and wanna make sure I don’t miss a beat.
Sandra and I walked out the airport exit and immediately spotted the car I called to pick us up and take us back home. We placed our luggage in the trunk and hopped in the back.
“I’m so tired,” I complained, “But I can’t wait for today,”
“What’s today?” Sandra asked rummaging through her purse for her ringing phone.
“Addison gets to meet Shayne,”
Sandra didn’t reply instead she went through her phone and then looked back up at me, “Too late…,”
“What are you talkin’ about?” I grabbed her wrist so that her phone screen was facing me. I saw a picture that Rasia sent her of Addison and Shayne with the caption ‘so cute’.
Before I could speak Sandra pushed the call button on her phone so she could call Rasia. I honestly didn’t know what to say but I expected for her and Chris to pull some shit like this. I wouldn’t put it pass them and the fact that they could let Sandra know but not me says a lot.
“Yeah the picture is cute,” Sandra said cautiously as I listened to Rasia’s voice on the other end of the phone, “Where’s Addison and Shayne now?”
I stared intently at Sandra until she started shaking her head. I closed my eyes and rested my head against the window of the escalade.
“Okay, I’ll let her know,”
