Chapter: E I G H T E E N

“I’m sorry if I’m an embarrassment! I’m sorry if I’m a disappointment and a screw up!”—Tavi

“Wassup lil nigga?” I asked Rico as he walked into my house before Chris.

He nodded his head and kept walking. I dapped Chris up and closed the door behind him. “What’s good? Where’s Addison?”

“She just left wit’ Loren,” I answered as we walking into the living room.

“Uncle Shayne can I have a dollar?” Rico asked.

“Why yo’ ass always askin’ me for money? Ya’ dad got money too,” I looked down at him confused. Rico was Chris’s identical twin; it almost tripped me up sometimes. I love Addison but sometimes I wish she was a boy so that she could roll with me the same way Rico does with Chris.

“My dad said you got all the money… so give me a dollar,” He demanded.

I kissed my teeth and waved him off turning my attention back over to Chris, “Wassup, whatchu want?”

“You know what happened to Rocko?” He wondered.

I nodded my head, “I heard about it but I’ont know what happened,” I lied. I’m not about to disclose any information to Chris because that means I gotta tell him why I wanted Rocko’s head and I don’t wanna go into details with that.

“Shits crazy man,” He stressed, “And this nigga got a rap sheet… His ass was one of the best,”

I nodded agreeing with him. I do think Rocko was the best of the best but he wasn’t about to be stealing from me and on top of that taking advantage of Tavi. Just thinking about it makes my trigger finger itch.

“We just gotta stay on top of the game,” I assured him, “We was good wit’ him and we gon’ be good wit’ out him,”

“Yeah, you right…,” He took a seat and pulled a blunt from out of his pocket while Rico sat next to him.

“You just gon’ smoke in front of his ass?” I questioned.

He waved his hands and continued to light his blunt up. “He good,” He replied after his first pull from the blunt.

“This why his ass is bad now,” I shook my head and took a seat on the other couch.

            “Addison’s bad,” Rico retorted.

“No the hell she’s not… My baby’s an angel,” I corrected him.
