Chapter 53: Departure

A week had finally gone by since the Kid Pirates arrived at their hideout. Kira knew it was time for her to make her way back to her crew at Dressrosa. It was a hard reality for her to face but she had no other choice because did not want to let her crew worry about her nor abandon them. 

Kira looked down at the goggles Kid gave her. She began to blush looking at them holding them close to her chest. To her, it was a prized possession she would cherish for the rest of her life. Kira closed her eyes as she fitted her goggles on her head. She opened her eyes then walked over to the sea to look at her reflection. Kira began to smile over her new look with an apparent blush on her face. She adjusted them slightly then nodded her head in approval.

After putting her goggles on, it was finally time. Kira had to head out and reunite with her crew. Kira pulled out the bottle Lula gave to her along with her Vivre card and held onto it in her left hand. This was the one crucial item to ensure Kira her chance to reunite with her crew again. She was happy she would finally be seeing her crew again and was curious to see how much her crew has grown since the past two years. 

However, at the same time, she didn't want to leave the Kid Pirates behind. Deep down, Kira felt would still be considered a member of the Kid Pirates. While at the shore, Kira noticed Kid approaching behind her. She began to blush knowing that this was goodbye but also felt that tears were about to well in her eyes. Now was not the time for her to shed any tears. It was now time. Kira had to say goodbye to Eustass Kid. It hurt Kira to leave Kid and his crew behind but she would have to but in her heart, it hurt. 

Why does it hurt so much, Kira thought, my heart won't stop aching...

"Looks like it's time huh," Kira spoke, "never thought time would move so quickly but we both have to go our separate ways."

"Yea," Kid replied.

"I will say one thing," Kira continued, "being with your crew for the past two years, I thought I would hate every second, every minute of every day being on your ship with you and your men but for some reason, there was something about you that change my perspective of you as a captain. I can't say what it is but, I'll say this much, being with your crew I knew a part of you I've never known. Plus, it helped me break out of my shell from my past and become not only a stronger individual but a stronger pirate ready to take on anyone in the New World. If there were more pirates that had your fearlessness out on the high seas, there would be more individuals who are willing to stare fear in the face, who don't back down from any obstacle they couldn't take down but still face it head on."

Kid looked to Kira then placed his mechanical hand on Kira's head stroking her hair. Kira warmly smiled then looked out to sea for a second then back at Kid. She wanted to say something else to him but it slipped her mind. Then it hit her. She had something to give to Kid. Kira reached into her pocket and grabbed a piece of her Vivre card she kept on herself handing it to Kid. Kid looked at it wondering what it was.

"You'll need it one day."

Kid tucked the Vivre card away then looked back at Kira. He looked into her neon blue eyes causing her to blush. It never got old.

"I wish you luck in your alliance," Kira smiled softly, "and if possible, try not to get into too much trouble while out at sea."

"You should know me by now Beauty," Kid chuckled, "no promises."

"Heh why do I even ask," Kira chuckled.

Kira tried not to shed any tears knowing this would be goodbye, but it wasn't goodbye forever. She was going to miss Kid. The last two years she spent with him deep down, she felt she could cherish them for the rest of her life. Now being Kid's lover, she would forever be his and would wait for him out at sea when they cross paths again.

Kira looked to Kid with a soothing smile on her face as two angel wings beautifully protruded from her back as she slowly ascended from the ground. As she floated into the air, she gave Kid one last hug holding him tightly in her arms. She was going to miss his warmth, his arms around her body, his touch, everything. In the beginning, she loathed him with a burning hatred but now she was irrevocably in love with him. She wished she could stay in his arms just a little while longer but she had to depart.

After she hugged Kid, she leaned forward placing a gentle kiss on his dark colored lips. Kid deepen the kiss holding her once more. Kira was going to miss his kiss. Kira almost felt her tears about to well up in her eyes but she stopped them before they were about to fall. Once they kissed, Kira looked into Kid's amber eyes with a gentle smile then moved her lips to Kid's ear.

"I love you," Kira whispered.

Kira and Kid looked at one another before she ascended into the sky. Kid placed his right hand on Kira's cheek stroking it gently. She was going to miss this feeling very much.

"Until we meet again Beauty," Kid replied.

Kira placed her hand gently on Kid's stoking her head on his hand shutting her eyes smiling. Kira gently moved Kid's hand from her cheek still gripping onto it as she slowly ascended to the sky releasing her grip from Kid's hand.

As she floated into the sky, she could feel tears streaming down her cheeks much to her surprise. She didn't understand why she was starting to cry. Was it because she was going to miss Kid that badly? If so, why did it hurt? Kira felt her heart ache seeing Kid in a short distance on the ground with her in the sky as she saw Kid make his way back to the castle. This was it. It was time for her and Kid to go their separate ways until they were to meet once again out at sea.

"Goodbye," Kira wept softly to herself.

After saying her final goodbye to Kid, Kira turned herself around and flew off to her destination. Tears still continued to fall down her cheeks after leaving the Kid Pirates behind. She was happy she was going to see her crew again but was heartbroken that she had to leave Kid and his crew behind. Kira wiped the tears from her eyes and focused on her main mission: to get to Dressrosa. She pulled out Lula's Vivre card noticing it moving in a certain direction leading her to her crew. Kira suddenly felt her heart racing. She couldn't believe it! She was finally going to reunite with her crew! This was just the beginning not just her journey as a new pirate but as a person starting a new chapter in her life in the New World to find the One Piece!

*A special treat for my readers! Here is the final chapter for the Kid Pirates Arc for Angel of Death! Now I will say that for the time being, I will be editing my story while working on outlines for the upcoming chapters for the Dressrosa Arc that is coming around the bend which I am extremely excited about!
