"Aki, it's dark already. Come home now and help me prepare dinner!"
"Just one more round, Mom!"
His mother watched as Aki practiced with the other four kids of his age in their village. The five ten-year old kids were born almost at the same time and this was a rare phenomenon because a successful birth in their clan was a hard thing to come by. This is the reason why their population was so low and each child born was extremely precious for the whole clan.
Living deep in the mountain, just along the biggest river in a province, their village existed in secret. The population of the villagers were no more than 100 but each one of them was of special existence.
This was the Yanagi clan.
A clan that carried a pure, special bloodline of assassins that were born with unique abilities. Hundreds of years ago, marriages were kept so close in the family. Since successful births from this union was extremely difficult, they made it a decree to allow marriages only from 3rd degree or further. The purity of their bloodline made them the only existing clan of assassins of this distinction.
Because of their incomparable skills and talents, they were being employed by the members of royal blood or extremely wealthy people for protection or for confidential missions but none knew where they lived. They appeared whenever and wherever they were needed by a special summon.
"Why can't you still control your speed, Umi??" An annoyed young boy, Hiro, was rubbing his red forehead after bumping into a young girl he was practicing with.
"Idiot! How can I if you keep on appearing in front of me! You're the one who can't control your teleportation!"
"Hey, you two! Stop bickering! We need to go home after 10 minutes!" The most mature one among the six, Ino, was floating in the air and trying to do some somersaults in different speeds.
"That two just can't grow up, still like babies." Roji was trying to harden the water that was floating over his palms.
"Let them be. It's fun listening to them." Aki giggled while watching sprouts grow from the seeds he was holding.
"Hey, Aki! Come here, I found something!" Umi waved her hands and instead of just the boy she called, all four went closer to her and looked over the thing she was pointing at. "What's that, Aki?"
"This is the first of its kind here in the village, isn't it?" Hiro was trying to touch it when Ino grabbed his hand.
"Are you crazy?? That can be a poison or an explosive."
"There's a limit to being stupid, stupid!" Umi rolled her eyes.
"Let Aki see it well. He's the one with an affinity to living creatures.
Aki studied the purple plant which looked like a mushroom but he didn't touch it. "It is releasing a lot of spores but it doesn't seem to be a poison." He reached out to feel the spores in the air. "Warm, but not toxic."
"Hey! Your skin absorbed the spores!"
A loud smack was heard and everyone saw Hiro rubbing the top of his head.
"What are you shouting for? How long had Aki been doing that so he can further study a specimen??"
"You know what, when we grow up, you two should just get married."
"What??? Over our Chieftain's dead body!!!" Hiro and Umi abruptly answered Roji at the same time which made the others laugh so hard.
"Uminoroji!! Akihiro Uminoroji!!!"
