Aki was already asleep when Shunsuke finished and came back into the room. He was lying in the inner side of the bed, facing the wall. The hair dryer was still plugged and the wet towel that the latter used was untidily hung on the chair. He picked the towel up and hung it on one of the hooks behind the door. He also hung the towel he used beside it. After drying his hair, he sat on the bed.

"What now?"

He took a deep breath as he looked around. There seemed to be nothing that he can use so he could sleep on the floor. There were only two pillows and one blanket. With no other choice, he lied down next to Aki.

"Hey, are you really asleep?"

No answer nor movement.

He shifted to his side and watched the back of the small figure in front of him.

"He's so close. If I reach out my hand, I can touch him."

Being a sole heir to the multitude of wealth and businesses, he was already used of being targeted and harmed. Since he was young, he had been kidnapped twice and what just happened today was already the second attempt of assassination. These things were the reason why he learned three kinds of martial arts and tried to maintain good relationships with people while being cautious. He also learned how to use different weapons because he knew he couldn't just rely on bodyguards all the time.

Thinking about this now, he somehow felt ashamed of himself. We was totally useless in the cliff. He just thought of minimizing the damage. He planned to just let himself be captured and lead the assassins away from the others. Then, he'd fight them. He wasn't sure if he'd win or not but he was only determined not to let anyone get hurt.

Unfortunately, all the things he learned to protect himself and all the dangers he managed to survive before were not enough to prepare him for the things that Aki did. While they were on the cliff and the latter was singled out by one of those men, he was already prepared to fight even 'til death in order to protect the latter. But as it turned out, he was the one being saved, and at the most impressive ways.

Before, he only knew he liked this boy, he didn't even mind realizing after all these years that he wasn't straight. Now, he was willing to do anything just to keep the other by his side. Even if he had to beg or to resort to bribing, he'd do anything.

Something was stirring him inside though. There were so many things that no matter how he racked his brain, he couldn't find the answers. How did they survive that fall, the thing that wrapped them, the kiss... and the forest, there was something so strange about the forest.

"Aki... I want to call you 'Aki'. It's fine, right?" He murmured. "What are you, Aki?" Then he sighed. "But whatever secrets you hide, you can use me so nobody will find out. Don't leave my side, okay? I have a lot of money, you can use them." In his last thought, he chuckled. "Stupid, I sound like a sugar daddy."

He shifted on his back again. Staring at the ceiling, he rested his arm on his forehead. "Ah, this is crazy. Better get to sleep."

Why couldn't people learn? Never assume that someone was asleep just because he looked asleep. Wasn't that too basic? Of course, Aki was awake. He heard everything so clearly.

Earlier, he pretended to be asleep to escape the awkwardness of the situation and the possible questions. He wasn't in the mood to deal with anything now, he had enough troubles for the day.

But... The things that Shunsuke said made him go over the whole situation again. He had a point there, and a very conducive one at that. He could make convincing covers better if he hid behind the money and connections of the Saito family. It also looked like Shunsuke was serious with their deal. It was actually more beneficial for him than to the one who brought it up.
