The next day, Takaki saw Shunsuke talking to one of the people he was familiar with. The latter wasn't bothered when he got closer and was able to hear the two's conversation.

"What's wrong?" He asked his friend the moment the man left.

"Dad encountered some problems. He won't be coming home for a while."

"Why are you so calm about it?"

The other shrugged his shoulders, "It doesn't seem so serious, only needs a lot of time and money. Nothing that he can't solve."

He and his dad had a way of relaying messages. There were words that they take in as clues for each other's actual situation in order to deter trackers or assassins, or to give special instructions. The messenger just now gave none, so it meant his father was just doing fine.

"Good to know. But if ever there's something wrong, don't hide it from me."

Shunsuke grinned, "Yeah, as if I can hide anything from you even if I want to."

"Exactly. This, for example." He looked at Aki who was casually talking with one of the housekeepers from afar before he continued teasing the other, "What's with all the cringey looks, the blushing every time both of your eyes met, and the sticky glances?"

"Stop noticing or I'll ban you from here." He chuckled as he followed the latter's eyes. After a while, his voice became serious, "It's just me, isn't it? Getting flustered and obvious?"

"Hmm... Not really. He also seems to be overly conscious of you now, just not up to your level. You're something, dude, really." He shook his head pretending to be disappointed, "Can you mellow down a little? You're embarrassing your ancestors every minute of the day."

Aki looked back at the two as the loud laughter from both boys reached where he was standing. When his eyes met Shunsuke's, he quickly snapped back to the person he was talking with.

"So, what is it? Official? All good?" Takaki asked again when they were finally able to catch their breaths from laughing.

"Yeah."

"Tsk. Wipe that proud smirk off your face, this is where things will get tougher."

"I know, but it's still way better than being stuck wondering how to make him like me back or just to accept me." He happily put his arm around his friend shoulders as they both looked towards Aki. "He's amazing, Taka. He makes me want to become a better person and be an adult fast."

"I'm happy for you, Shun. Just take it easy with the greasiness, I might punch you in the gut if you get out of hand."

"Yeah, yeah." He lightly smacked Takaki's head before continuing, "What else do I expect from you?"

The other chuckled then got serious again. "By the way, I came here to tell you that I took a leave from school, one month. I need to go overseas."

"One month?"

"Yes, as my father's Will had it, everything will be transferred to my name once I turn 18."

"Ah, that's next week. But why one month?" He knew that Takaki's uncle, who was now mainly in charge of all their businesses, had just moved to another country, but one month sounded too long. Besides, everything needed to be processed here, not there.

"Nothing, I just thought I need some time to cool my head."

"Raiah?"

"Mm. It's not right to push myself to him. If I always see him in this state, I might do something stupid. He doesn't like me. That's just it. "
