Within minutes, both speedsters were back at S.T.A.R. Labs, a place they hadn't seen in months...they were home...
Y/N tried to look around the Cortex, things had changed since she had seen it last, but Cisco was ushering her into the med bay. Julian was doing the same to Barry.
For once, Y/N didn't mind the endless number of tests that Caitlin was running on her. She was just happy to be home. Julian was busy looking over Barry in the room next door.
"It's good to have you back," Caitlin mentioned as she took a sample of Y/N's blood.
Y/N nodded slightly, "It's good to be back," she replied.
Caitlin nodded, "You and Barry are both severely dehydrated and malnourished, the IV in your arm is hydrating you but it will take a few hours," she explained. "And I expect it to take a lot longer before your speed returns to normal," she added.
"I'm having a little trouble breathing," Y/N told Caitlin.
Caitlin sighed softly, "The bruising around your neck is pretty severe, it's possible that the bruising is causing some swelling that is restricting your airway."
Y/N nodded, accepting the explanation, "Thanks, Cait."
Caitlin sent Y/N a friendly smile as Joe walked into the med bay. Joe stood silently as he took in Y/N's appearance in the light for the first time. The bruising along her face from Zoom's strikes were showing prominently, along with the bruises on her neck.
"How are you feeling?" Joe asked as he stood before Y/N. He was worried about her and Barry being different after spending so much time away from the team.
Y/N sighed softly, "Like I'm just happy to be home," she answered. "It's still hard to believe that we were only gone for seven months," she added.
Joe furrowed his brows, "It didn't feel like seven months?" he questioned.
Y/N shook her head, "Even though spending so much time in that cell not moving dampened our speed, time still moved slowly for us. Minutes were like days, weeks like months," she explained.
Joe nodded, "Well, you're home now, let's focus on that."
Y/N forced a weak smile as she agreed with Joe. "So what happened with the metahuman gas?" Y/N asked. "Did the team find an antidote?"
Joe furrowed his brows in confusion, "What are you talking about? Zoom burned his base of operations to the ground after you made that deal with him, the gas was inside when the building was destroyed."
Y/N sighed, shaking her head as her eyes were fixed on the ground. "Zoom found out that Barry and I planned to escape, and then he told us that he was releasing the gas and tormenting the city," she told Joe.
Joe was silent, he didn't know what to say.
Y/N shook her head, "I guess Zoom is more of a liar than I gave him credit for."
"Zoom has been silent since you two left," Joe mentioned. "But what's that I heard about you and Barry planning to escape?" he wondered.
"We didn't tell anyone this because the plan had to seem legit to everyone, including those closest to us. Barry and I were going to make the deal with Zoom, us for the gas, once he destroyed it we were going to escape, but Zoom was one step ahead of us. He laced the cell with negative tachyons, we couldn't get out even if we tried, but somehow Zoom found a way to get in and out just fine," Y/N explained.
"I know how he did it," Cisco said walking into the med bay.
Y/N looked up, growing intrigued by what Cisco had said, "Do tell."
