Mount Olympus...
On the mountain peak are a group of people, or to be more precise the Olympian gods.
"This is what we've been preparing for. We need to win this war and slaughter every enemy that dares set they're foot on our home." Zeus boomed before continuing. "Apollo and Artemis, how's it looking on your part?"
"Everything's going well on my part. My hunters are scattered across the wilderness, waiting and setting up an ambush for the enemies." Artemis filled them up. While Artemis was explaning Apollo kept playing with his bow, clearly bored out of his mind. Finally Demeter who was next to Apollo couldn't hold it in any longer. "What's the matter with you!? There's a war that's about to engulf Olympus and you're playing with your bow!?" Demeter scolded with clear frustration. "How could I not be bored my dear Aunt when I'm given medical duty?" Apollo countered back clearly unamused.
"You should be thankful dear little brother. You could be hurt... or worse, your hair could be ruined." Artemis joked. Apollo's face contorted to a very ugly expression and veins the size of a worm started to appear on his forehead. He was clearly frustrated with his dear sister's words, but before he could open his mouth to rebute his sister, a large and powerful hand grabbed his head and slammed his face down on the golden table. Golden blood splashed everywhere including the faces and armor of the other gods. This kind of injury could be healed by themselves in minutes with enough focus. The large and powerful hand belonged to Ares. His eyes contained a coldness that could freeze one's heart if they were to look into it while Ares was continuing to release massive amounts of murderous intent. The big three and the other older Olympians could withstand this pressure but with great difficulty while the younger and weaker ones could feel like they couldn't breath at all and felt that they were going to die if this immensely ominous aura did not dissipitate. The only one who was not affected by the aura was Athena, although she was shocked of what happened in the meeting.
"This is war, and your complaining about your duties?" Ares said coldly while glaring to the other Olympians. With everyone repressed and scared to the bone, they couln't even lift they're heads up and look at Ares. All they could do was let heads hang low.
Apollo whose face was still slammed on the table was scared shitless and began to tremble greatly, afraid that Ares would lose his patience and kill him right there and then.
"I... I... I'm... so... s... sorr... sorry." Apollo said with great effort. Finally when Athena took Ares's hand and begun to rub her slender and smooth thumb to his rough knuckles did Ares let go Apollo's head and dissipitated his aura. Ares glared at all of the Olympians and said with hostility "If you don't take this seriously..." Ares didn't need to finish his sentence to let the others know of their possible outcomes if this continued on.
The others nodded and Apollo began to lift his head up. Clearly still afraid of Ares. He began to focus and heal his face while still trembling. The others where afraid to and looked at Apollo with pity. They were thankful that they weren't very talkative in the meeting. Artemis and Demeter were clearly more afraid than the others. They didn't know if Ares would do something to them. But they sighed with relief when they saw Athena grab Ares's other hands and lay her head on his chest before whispering something to him and pecking his lips. They were really thankful to Athena that she can tame the beast.
The part of the table that Apollo's face was slammed in was filled with lots of crack and even the floor was cracked.
Finally after a few minutes, Zeus continued on. "Poseidon how is the ocean? Is everything going well?" Posiedon answered after a few seconds, still scared of what happened. "Everything's going well. Atlantis's army is preparing as we speak." Zeus was satisfied and looked at Hades. "What about the underworld Hades?" Hades who was zoning out came back to his senses. "Yeah, the underworld is fine. My army of undead is marching to the gates of death right now." Zeus nodded.
When Hades saw what happened to Apollo he couldn't help but remember what happened to him when he kidnapped one of Ares's children. After Ares found out about what happened, he stormed to the underworld. Destroying lots of the undead in the process and brutally making Cerberus submit to him by continually beating the three-headed dog close to death. After that encounter, Cerberus would whimper and become an obedient dog when close to Ares. Hades himself was in a worse situation whith mutiple broken bones throughout his body and all his limbs were broken with bones sticking out of his hands, anckles, elbows, knees, and feet. He was soaked with blood and his face was unrecognizable with the beating that Ares gave him. He was completely helpless against Ares. Because of that experience, Ares became Hades's mental demon. And furthermore Ares forced him to swore ro the river styx, that if he ever harms Ares's family in anyway way, be it mentally or physically, Ares would kill him in the most brutal and atrocious way possible. This led to Hades's immense fear of Ares.
When the others heard about this, they were astonished and and knew right then and there that they were not to offend Ares in anyway possible.
And right now, Zeus looked at the couple who were holding hands. Ares was very different from his bloodthirsty self when around Athena. His smiles are much brighter and sweeter compared to his pyschotic smile and even his eyes contained a look that lets a person feel tenderness and love. Even Aphrodite who was the goddess of love was put to shame with Ares's loving gaze towards Athena. When all of them felt the ominous pressure, Athena was the only one who was unaffected.
"How about you Ares?" Zeus asked with caution, afraid that he would wake the beast once more. "Everything is going well on our part. My acolytes and Athena's hoplites will be working together to defend the east." Ares said cooly while holding Athena's hand.
Zeus let out the breath that he didn't know he was holding in. "Okay, the army of Olympus will be defending the north, the hunters of Artemis will be defending the west and the army of the Underworld will be defending the south. Poseidon's army will be fighting in the sea. Okay everyone, meeting dismissed. Intel says that the enemy army will be arriving in less than 4 hours."
With that said, everyone stood up and left to prepare. Ares and Athena left together hand in hand. With both their necks having a reddish mark. Having marked each other, both happily left and kissed passionately beforw descending the mountain.
