Before the two of us could leave, I pulled Taehyung aside. "Taehyung, I forgot to tell you, and I've had this for a bit now..."

I held up his phone and handed it to him, "Wait... isn't that—"

"I have been holding onto your phone. It still works, nothing's really damaged function wise, but your screen is cracked."

If anything, he was shocked, happy, and confused. But he didn't question it.

"I figured you'd need it. Especially now." Chuckling, "you have a lot of missed calls from Namjoon, I'd recommend preparing yourself and calling him back at least instead of showing up at his doorstep out of nowhere."

There was something wrong, I could feel it. The expression on his face, the glossiness of his eyes, and his hands.

His hands were shaking— no, he was trembling. And it sure made me feel uneasy.

I walked over to him and lifted his chin gently, looking right into his dark brown hued eyes. "Hey, relax. It's okay."

I then gently grabbed his hands and held them with both of mine, "stop being so nervous and afraid, your whole body's trembling and it looks like you've just step foot into Antarctica or something." Chuckling at him, hoping to make him stop and enlighten his mood, "take a deep breath. That's all you need."

"Shit... I—I didn't even realize that I was shaking..." I was hoping for his usual little boxy smile, but instead, it was a very forced and hesitant sheepish one.

"I'm sorry I just— I never really told him... anything." His breath hitched, "I didn't tell him anything after that night, I didn't call to say an actual goodbye, I only left a note on the fridge in hopes he'd read it... I feel so.. horrible. For doing that." Looking back at his phone, he sighed heavily and held his head as if he had the worst headache in his life, then he let go.

He took in a few deep breaths, and stopped his shaking. He calmed down and somewhat relaxed. Though, he was hesitant.

I placed a hand on his shoulder as he looked back up at me, as if asking for approval to even call. "He'll understand if he's that close to you. You don't have to tell him exactly what happened, you can tell him the truth later since it's hard to believe."

He simply nodded in agreement as his head of hair lightly shook on his head, some of it stuck to his forehead from sweating because of how nervous he was.

Before I knew it, he dialed the number and within the first few rings, the person on the other end immediately picked up.

I stood a few feet away from him as he spoke and I swore I could hear faint crying and screaming on the other end.

Pang.

He was blabbering a bunch of "sorry"'s and "I'll explain everything soon"'s and "I missed you so much" and so on.

Pang.

My heart felt like it was bleeding and crying. I clutched my chest and as I turned around, my heart fell into my stomach and felt like it was being absorbed and destroyed by the burning acids within it.

He was on the floor hugging his knees, crying so hard, yet, so quietly, I didn't even hear a single weep from him. It was his eyes, his red face, and steaming cheeks that said it all.

It was as if he was staring blankly into nothingness and just let Namjoon cry with him.

I felt as if I was falling apart, but this is just the beginning of it.

With the softest audible tone, and a few cracks in his voice, his lips parted and he did his best not to wail, "Is... is my sister there? Is she alright?"
