A warm gust of air hit my face and relaxed me as I opened the door with a deep breath.
To my surprise, Namjoon, Taehyung, and his sister Eonjin were still upstairs. I could hear them talking, things have finally settled down, though, I don't want to intrude on anything.
I heard my name a few times from above me as I stood by the stairs, hoping they would come down.
Namjoon peeped his out with a little "oh?", a bit shocked. "You can come up now, Jungkook. I apologize."
When I finally reached the top, I was met with a heartwarming sight as Taehyung embraced his sister, small and uneasy chatter within the room, as well as reassurance.
"I didn't notice, where were you?" Namjoon asked, calmer than earlier.
My fingers grazed the back of my head, my locks still cold to the touch. "I uh... went outside for a little bit."
Namjoon understood, I looked at him, asking with the glimmer in my eyes if I could enter the room. When he nodded, I walked in with light steps and stood a few feet from the foot of the bed.
Eonjin looked up at me, her eyes still puffy, but her gaze soft and warm. Taehyung soon followed the direction she was looking at and met my eyes as well.
I gave the two a gentle smile and approached Eonjin, I didn't want to seem intimidating, so I crouched as she looked at me from above. I didn't want to trigger a sense of fear or anything to ruin the mood, which to my surprise was less tense than I thought it'd be.
My tone warm, light and smooth enough to soothe, "Hello Eonjin, I've heard a bit about you from Taehyung." My teeth escaping out from the shadows of my plump lips, a more pleased expression, "My names Jungkook, Jeon Jungkook. I'm glad to finally meet you, and for you and your brothers reunion."
With a sniff, her lips parted and shut into a smooth smile. In one swift motion, she let Taehyung go and gently wrapped her arms around my neck, holding me close as she shed another tear, "Thank you..." she rasped, her vocal chords stressed too much from crying earlier ago. "Th—thank you for bringing him back home!"
Shocked as I was, I slowly stood up at an angle, careful, with a light bend as I gingerly returned the hug, rubbing her back as gently as possible.
From what I've heard from Taehyung, every part of her skin was bruised. Like she was a canvas, now painted in black, blue, purple, and yellow hues. Of course I didn't want to hurt her, though, knowing from experience, she might have just numbed out of the pain.
Pang.
Another shock went right to my heart, though it wasn't as painful, it's hard to even imagine what she had went through. Her gentle touch warmed me enough to not feel the pain so much though.
"No need to thank me." Lightly chuckling, "I did what I could when the time was right."
After being released from her warm touch, I looked at Taehyung and thought, 'Would it be alright if I healed her? We can always tell her what happened to you and who I really am, later.'
With a single nod of approval I lightly held Eonjin's hand and smiled, "I know this'll be a bit of a shock to you, but, do you want to see some... magic?"
She smiled.
No, she laughed.
A good light hearted laugh. But after everything, it didn't take her even a second to respond, "Sure."
I rolled up her sleeve to reveal dark scars and healing bruises. Her skin wasn't freshly bruised, obviously, if it were, I would have had to use all my might to fight my whole emotional being.
