Ily **I walk through the door and drop my possessions onto the floor, kicking them aside. I let my legs lead me into the small kitchen and I grab a glass and turn on the tap. My fingers touch the instant cold water and I take the wet hand and place it on my forehead in attempt to cool myself down.
Exercise really isn't my forte.
The water pours into the glass and I pull it to my lips, gulping large amounts of liquid to hydrate myself. I let out a large breath after I've emptied the glass and I decide to refill it.
After I've done so, I turn off the tap and head to the living room where I place the glass on the neat coffee table and fall down onto the couch.
I lie out stretched for a few seconds and take a few relieved breaths, as I mentally thank Luke for not yet being back so I wouldn't have to come up with some lame excuse about my disappearance.
I then sit upright and lean forward to grab to button when I hear the door knob twist.
My head turns in the direction of the door and my first 'non suspisious' reaction is to smile, with teeth and everything.
As soon as my eyes attach to the red coated clothes, my mouth drops open and my eyes do the same. I feel the blood shoot straight up to my face and I suddenly feel sick to my stomach.
"I can explain..." He says, noticing my reaction.
I pull myself to my feet and stumble backwards. My eyes detach from his clothing and I can't bring myself to look again.
The brief glance I did have of his face was just the same colour as his clothes. The dark shade of red was splattered everywhere.
"Wh-wha..." I stumble on my words as I feel vomit arise. "Is tha-that bl-blood?"I can't even let him speak before I run to the bathroom and puke for what feels like a whole month worth of food.
His footsteps come closer to the room I'm in but I don't bother to look around.
"Bennie." He murmurs. 'I need to explain.""No." I put my arm behind me to block his way to getting closer. "If... if that's w-what I think it is, I don't... I don't want to hear it."
"I need to tell you why." His voice is firm and it gives me shivers that make me throw up again.
I pull my weight away from the toilet and dodge past him, not letting him touch me.
"I don't want to know why, Luke! I don't want to know why you..." I pause and try to think about my next move. "why... why you murdered someone!"
As the words come out my own mouth I gape in disbelief.
It feels more surreal me saying it and I can't imagine how it might feel if Luke says it. Admits it.
"It wasn't my fault!" He shoots back.
The worst thing of all is that he doesn't even defend himself after I just called him a murderer!
I shake my head and try to swallow the lump in my throat that is threatening tears.
"It wasn't your fault?! It wasn't your fault! Tell me, Luke, how did you kill them? No! Wait, first tell me who!" I shout.
My face burns as the blood rushes through my veins.
This is not the type of adrenaline I want to feel.
The sudden urge to hit him or to get violent, because I do. I want to lash out and shout at him and punish him for something that I don't even know of yet.
Something that hasn't even been told to me, just something that I guessed.I take a few breaths to calm myself down and I march into Luke's room and grab some clean clothes.
I then throw them at him and point to the bathroom door.
"I'm not hearing any sort of explanation until you've washed that of your body and changed into something clean." I say.
My hand then reaches out for a plastic carrier bag which I hold open for luke to put in the bloody clothes for me to wash.
He starts to strip right in front of me and I stare at the plastic bag as the clothes go in. I don't bother to stare at his body, I just concentrate on my firm side.
Once I have all of his clothing he enters the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.
I take the clothes and empty them into the washer, putting the dial on extra wash.
