Levi's POV
Towards the end of the day, Eren passed out and snored softly. I had to pick him up and walk him downstairs. But I felt him perking up and giggling softly. "Hi Miss Hanji..."
I turned around, and sure enough, the CEO was there. She waved gently and spoke softly. "Hey Eren; hey Levi. Going home?"
Eren nods his head and giggles more. "We're gonna get burgers for dinner! I wanted burgers, and Dad said yes!"
"Awe... such a sweet father, isn't he?" Hanji giggles as well, standing next to the elevators with us. She sighed, rolling her shoulders around with exhaustion in her sigh. "Long day... even for the first day on the job."
"What? You have tons of paperwork to do?" I scowled at her, but pulled back when I saw that exhaustion in her eyes. She said she had much more time to be free, but in reality... she took long hours to do more work- overtime even. "At least you're going home."
"Actually, that's untrue." She brushed her hair behind her ears, sighing a bit more as Eren laid his head back down on my shoulder. "I'm grabbing my stuff from my car and sleeping here overnight. Don't worry about me; trust me, I've done this multiple times."
I don't know why I blurted out like this, but I did. "Stay at my place." How I wanted to hold my tongue from saying anything else, but I couldn't. When I tried to apologize, I couldn't.
Hanji replied softly with a doubt in her mind. She looked quizzically at me through her glasses, ensuring that I wasn't kidding around. "W-What?"
"Stay at my place." I repeated myself, shaking my head. "It's just for a night. And besides, the office does get cold and a bit boring. And... you can help with this little guy. In the morning, he gets so cranky and starts arguing with the babysitter. 3 years old and he's arguing with his babysitter."
At first, it seemed she was gonna turn down my offer. But once she opened her mouth, my mind was changed. "Sure. Lemme grab my car and-".
"No. We can ride together." The elevator dings softly, and we both walked in together. "Grab your stuff from your car and I'll give you a ride."
Hanji nodded softly, "Thank you..."
"Don't mention it."
* * *
I drove into the apartment's parking lot and carefully unbuckled the sleeping Eren from his car seat. Hanji was getting out of the passenger seat and grabbing her duffel bag. The slightest movement when I unbuckled Eren woke him up. He gasped ever so slightly, but his heavy eyelids fell back down. I couldn't help but chuckle at him. Motioning Hanji to follow, we went up to the 9th floor and down to our apartment: 912.
"You can take the bedroom, Hanji." I sighed after locking the door and tossing the keys on the counter. "Eren's got his own and I can just sleep in my office."
"No, I can't-". She began to speak, but once more, I stopped her from speaking. This time, it was my glare that stopped her from speaking. "Okay..."
Reluctantly, she went over to the bedroom as I carefully took Eren to the bathroom. He whined softly when I was putting him down to give him a bath. "N-No..."
"Eren, you need a bath before you sleep."
He shook his head and stomping his feet. It was a little late for him- only 8 pm at night. "N-No!"
I've never yelled at Eren- just scolded him whenever he acted up. "Eren, you do want to go to sleep, huh? Well, you need a bath first. And plus, you didn't get your burger for dinner. Aren't you hungry?" Eren was silent at first, but he nodded his head once I caught his stomach growling. "You are... let's give you a bath- change you up, and then you can eat. Fair?"
