Levi's POV

I woke up earlier for this moment. Hanji and Eren were practically made for each other. Hanji's gentle arms were around Eren's frail body. Both were snoring away. Not waking either of them, I got dressed in casual clothing and walked out the front door. The first place I went to was a pharmacy place to pick up a pregnancy tester- just to confirm it.

My trip was completed once I had the tester in a small bag and a small bouquet of flowers. I walked into the apartment, seeing that everything was how I left it. I chuckled at how still life in my apartment was- especially since I left it for a few minutes. Soon enough, the dull apartment was decorated with a vase of bright iris flowers. Once I finished fixing it up, I caught Hanji slowly making her way towards the kitchen.

"Flowers? When did you..." She quietly yawned, rubbing her tired eyes. "You weren't in bed... where were you?"

"Out to get you this." Tossing the tester, she clumsily caught in and eyed it. "Use it so we can get it over with, Hanji."

She sighed heavily and nodded, "Alright then..."

Almost 20 minutes passed after I've given the test to Hanji. She was still in the bathroom when Eren woke up. He giggled softly when I made eggs and bacon for breakfast. "Where's Mommy?"

"Bathroom. You calling her that now?"

He nods softly. "Mhm... do you not like it that I call Miss Hanji 'mommy' now...?"

Quickly, I set up Eren's plate with eggs and bacon- giving it to him to eat. "No, I don't mind. It's just... I didn't think that you would call her that this soon. What were you trying to tell Hanji earlier? About it being a girl?"

Eren shrugged his shoulders and quietly ate. "I-I just think it's a girl."

"You know she has a baby?"

"W-What's a baby...?"

I chuckled softly, looking towards the bathroom door for any sign of Hanji. Still yet, there was nothing. "Well... a baby is... uh... a smaller thing of us. You were a baby when you came into the world to me. And well... they're just small."

"How do you make a baby...?"

Right when I was trying to drink my usual black tea in the morning, he had to ask that question. My throat was being clawed with coughs. Once I felt like I settled enough, I tried to answer his question with the most challenging answer. "W-Well... when 2 people love each other very much... uh... usually the mommy's stomach gets bigger."

"Oh... so just like Mommy?"

"We'll see about that... anyways, I'm taking you to school. I told you last night that you had to go to school tomorrow. Get dressed as soon as you can, okay?"

Eren grinned and quickly ate. "Okay!"

Seconds after Eren's plate was cleaned up, he ran off to his bedroom. With that, Hanji walked out of the bathroom with her hand delicately hiding her mouth. I saw the tester in her hand, almost hiding it behind her back. "So? What happened?" I asked, knowing the answer in the back of my head.

"It showed positive... I'm pregnant..."

Warmth filled me up inside as I hastily made my way towards her. "A-Are you sure? Hanji..." I quickly kissed her lips, holding her close to me. "What are you wanting to do-".

"I want to keep the baby." Hanji says softly, gently rubbing her invisible baby bump. "If you don't mind, of course..."

Her cheeks grew rosy pink as we quietly skimmed over the topic. "I don't mind- not at all... it's our baby... Eren would be thrilled to hear of a little sibling... and besides, it seems that he's pretty much expecting a baby. Even asked me the baby question..."

Hanji seemed to giggle, pushing herself against me. "That's so cute..."

"Didn't tell him other things..." My hand reached for her chin, and I pulled her close for a kiss. Our kiss was long and it felt like nothing would bother us. I nearly ran my hands up her thighs, but it just felt like someone was watching me. Turning around, Eren was peeking his head out of the corner, looking away embarrassingly. Clearing my throat, I took Hanji's hand and Eren's new backpack. "Alright... time to go."

"I-I'm scared..." Eren whimpers softly, clutching onto my pants for dear life as the three of us walk into the intimidating elementary school. Children were filling the hallways- screeching loudly. "Dad..."

My hand was firmly gripped on Eren's backpack as I led him into the appropriate classroom. "It's okay. You're safe."

"Welcome to Maria Elementary School!" A young woman smiled gently towards us, and I saw that she was Eren's homeroom teacher. "Who's this young boy?"

"My son, Eren."

The woman smiled and bent down. "Hi Eren... my name's Miss Polly. You can call me that, okay? Come inside- we're gonna introduce each other." She attempted to sway Eren to move away from me, but he simply looked up towards me. "Eren, it'll be nice here- there's a lot of children like you in the classroom." She continues softly.

My knees then bent and I held Eren's hands. "Eren, it's okay..."

"D-Don't leave me here..."

"I won't ever leave you behind. I promise you that. I'll come by to pick you up once school is done. I'll take you back to my work- no more babysitters. I'll even have Hanji pick you up whenever you want to. I will always come for you. No matter what. I love you."

Eren nods his head and looks towards the teacher. One last time, he quickly gives me a hug and smiles gently. "Okay, Dad... I love you!"

"Love you too."

Eren then runs over to Hanji, giving her a quick hug before walking into the classroom. He waves his chubby arm and giggles softly. "Bye bye!"

I watched him disappear into the classroom, and a heavy sigh fell onto my shoulders. I never expected for this to be... heartbreaking. I thought it would be relieving to have Eren enjoy his school-life, but I guess it affected me negatively. Hanji's hands reached for my shoulders, and smiling gently with encouragement. "You did promise to pick him up..."

"I know... I just don't want to leave yet..."

"We got work..."

I nodded my head and took Hanji's hand. Her warmth filled me up, comforting me. "I know. I'll be back to pick him up." I kissed her cheek and chuckled softly, looking back at the classroom one last time. "Hopefully he has a great first day of school..."
