Camille's point of view:

I enter my apartment a bit nervously and see my father sitting on the couch, watching TV. When I close the door, he looks at me scrutinizing. "Well, how was it with Jo in town?"

I shrug. "It was good. But it took hours for us to find something for Katie."

He frowns. "Katie?"

I have to make an effort not to roll my eyes. "Dad, Katie is the young girl who picked me up with Jo. You saw her."

He thinks for a moment and then nods slowly. "Ah yes. The little girl who always gets on Mr. Bitters's nerves."

Internally, I have to smile at the thought of what Katie would say if she knew my dad just called her "little girl". I sit next to him and wait for the right moment to start the conversation. In the commercial break, I take the chance. Slowly and quietly, I ask, "Dad, we're not leaving, are we?"

He's silent, me too. Finally, he says slowly, "I think your mother made a clear statement on this topic."

Yes, she did. After I couldn't talk to Dad, I called my mother. I told her everything. She promised that she would do anything to convince my dad. Obviously, it worked. I don't know what she told him, but Dad didn't talk about returning to Connecticut after the phone call. A good sign, but I need certainty. I couldn't bear to see Logan suffer so much again. "So we stay?" I ask again. Dad shrugs and then says, "Yes."

Now comes the hardest part. "If we stay here, I could be in contact with Logan again, right?"

He wants to say something, but before he can do that, I continue, "Dad, I really love you and I don't want to argue with you anymore. I don't want to meet with Logan behind your back, but that's what will happen if it continues like this. I want you to know where I go and with whom I meet. Please, Dad, I'll do whatever you want. I will follow every single rule without contradiction. But please, please let me have contact with Logan again. I miss him so much." I look at Dad intently. He sits there, deep in thought. Finally he sighs and says, "I also don't want to argue with you anymore, Camille."

"Does that mean I can see Logan again?"

He bites his lower lip. "Yes."

I embrace him stormily. "Oh, thanks, Dad. You are the best."

He gently pushes me away from him and looks at me seriously. "But remember, Camille, there will be rules and you want to follow these rules. Your words."

Mistrust rises in me. But no matter what Dad will do, as long as I'm allowed to spend time with Logan again, I'm fine. "Alright."

He gets up and goes to his bedroom. A moment later, he comes back and holds my laptop and my cell phone in his hands. He gives me the things and says, "You can call him, but I don't want you to go to him today."

"Okay, Dad."

He nods to me and then turns back to the TV. Excited, I go to my room. I can't wait to tell Logan the good news.
