Carlos's point of view:
I lie on my bed and stare at the ceiling. I'm dissatisfied. A whole week is over and Logan and I still haven't spoken. I don't dare to take the first step. I'm afraid that Logan can't forgive me. There is a knock on the door. Immediately I sit up. I know that Kendall is with Jo and James at the pool. Mrs. Knight is shopping with Katie. My heartbeat accelerates as I hear his voice, "Carlos?"
I want to answer him, but I can't do it. I'm too excited, because I realize that once again we are alone in the apartment. The door opens. Logan sees me sitting on the bed and asks, "May I come in?"
I nod. He enters, closes the door and sits down on my bed. He says nothing but kneading his hands in his lap. Then he raises a hand and rubs it over the back of his neck. A typical sign that Logan is nervous. He takes a deep breath and says, "Carlos, I'm really sorry for what I said and how I acted. You didn't want me any harm, and yet I yelled at you. That was totally stupid and can't be excused. I was just so scared that I wouldn't see Camille anymore. Nevertheless, it wasn't right to behave like this and if … if you can't forgive me, then I can understand that. But you should know how sorry I am." He stops and looks at me worried and even a little scared. Poor Logan. I hug him. "Oh, Logie. Of course I forgive you. I'm so sorry for what I did. I certainly didn't want that to happen."
Logan returns the hug. Then I hear his soft voice, "It's okay, Carlos. We both made mistakes. I should have told you guys and Mrs. Knight the truth right from the start. Then maybe that wouldn't have happened. But now everything is okay. Camille will not leave. And her father allowed us to see each other."
"That's great, Logan," I say enthusiastically, patting him on the back. He smiles happily. "Thanks." He hesitates for a moment, then asks, "So everything's okay between us? We're buddies again?"
"Of course," I laugh and he looks relieved. He pats me on the shoulder. "Thank you, Carlitos."
I grin. He wants to say something again, but the vibration of his cell phone interrupts him. He pulls it out of his pocket and reads the message. A smile flits across his face.
"Camille?"
He nods. "Yes. She asks if we want to meet."
I know it would be better if he left. Otherwise, the risk that I say or do something stupid and then destroy everything gets bigger and bigger. "Go to her."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Everything is okay between us. So go to her. You'll think about her all the time anyway."
He still looks insecure. Sighing, I push him so that he almost falls off the edge of the bed. He gets up, grinning. "Okay, okay. I'm leaving."
I laugh. At the door, he turns to me again. "See you at dinner."
"You can bet on it."
He smiles and goes out. My dissatisfaction has disappeared. Logan is happy again and that makes me happy too. Besides, we are friends again. So far everything is okay.
