"alright boys and girl," elliot said as the losers jumped in the tozier van. "it's save eddie time. now remember, the lab security is tight so just stick to the plan and we should be fine."

twenty minutes later, they parked the van on the side of the road. ben volunteered to be the getaway driver so he stayed in the car while the rest of them headed towards the menacing building.

~eddie~
eddie was curled up on the floor, his arms wrapped around himself to keep warm. the cement was cold against his skin and made him shiver uncontrollably.

he felt so weak lying on the ground staring at the wall. he had fucking powers for gods sake. couldn't he just bust out of here? but no, he could only be strong when richie was here.

god, he missed richie so much.

when he was with richie, he felt whole. he felt brave. he felt loved. but when he was alone he felt none of those things. it only made it worse that el wasn't here. he was so worried for her. if they had carved up his arm, who knows what they've done to her.

eddie shot into a sitting position as emergency alarms went off, causing the florescent lights to shut down.

it was mostly dark in his cell now, only the yellow flashing lights to help him see. he heard guards shouting and guns being fired.

richie.

richie must be here. and elliot. he said he would find a way to save eddie. he must've shut the electricity off. that's what he advised to eddie to do.

eddie gripped the bars of his cell, shakily standing up. if his friends were gonna save him, he didn't want to look weak in front of them. he wanted to appear strong.

eddie looked down at his bare wrist and remembered the gift stan got him. the bracelet. el had hidden it in her cell so that the guards wouldn't destroy it. eddie wasn't going to leave without it.

the flashing lights weren't much help to him, but he managed to spot an ajar brick on the wall of eleven's cell. that's where the bracelet was hidden. eddie just needed to slip his arm in her cell and get it.

he walked in his bare feet to the back of the cell, trying to distinguish the best angle to reach in.

eddie stuck his arm in carefully. just this once, he was glad that his arm was so skinny. he outstretched his fingers towards the loose brick, skimming it by one inch.

eddie sighed and tried again with no luck.

if only he could get a stick to cover the extra inch he was missing. eddie leaned against the wall, frustrated. where the fuck was he going to get a stick?

~richie~
elliot grabbed his arm, dragging him through the halls as the lab workers panicked. they had somehow managed to shut the electricity off and it was finally time to rescue eddie.

"the cells are around the next corner. when you reach them the door should be unlocked because of the lack of electricity. there might be a manual lock so just use a bobby pin." elliot said.

"wait where are you going?" mike asked, looking concerned.

elliot smiled sadly. "i have to find the sons of bitches that killed julie."

richie shook his head. "it's too dangerous. we need to get in then out. we can't afford to split up more."

the blond boy shook his head. "she was my best friend, richie. i have to avenge her death. the people who killed her shouldn't be alive anymore. i'm going to make sure of that."

beverly grabbed richies arm. "we have to go get eddie, the guards will be here any moment. we can't linger any longer."

mike stood next to elliot. "i'm coming with you."

elliot gazed at the boy the way eddie gazed at richie. "no mike, i don't want you to get hurt. stay with richie, you'll be safe with them."

mike only shook his head. "i said i'm coming with you, elli"

elliot blushed at the nickname and grabbed the shorter boys hand. "fine, let's go then."

as the pair left, richie turned to beverly. "they're a couple aren't they?"

beverly laughed. "i hope so, they'd be cute together."

bill pushed past them, a gun in his hand. "come on, we n-need to find eddie."

stanley stood beside him and grabbed his hand. "let's go, losers."

~eddie~
the asthmatic boy leaned against the wall, fed up with the impossible task of trying to get the bracelet.

maybe when richie comes, he'll be able to get the other cell open as well so eddie wouldn't have to get it himself.

the door to the room opened and eddies eyes lit up. he stood up, grabbing the bars as he waited for the beautiful sight of richies face.

but he was sadly mistaken.

sonia walked through the door, a sneer on her face as she saw the look of terror on eddie. "did you miss me?"

eddie took a deep breath. my friends are coming. i have to be strong. i have to be brave.
"go away."

sonia laughed as she stepped closer to him. "even if your friends do rescue you, you'll never find eleven."

eddies eyes widened. "what did you do to her?"

the large woman smiled. "oh she's fine on the outside at least. but she's hidden and you'll never find her. not unless you stay. if you stay, we won't harm eleven and we won't harm any of your friends who are trying to rescue you"

eddies breath hitched. of course she found a way to make him stay. she used eleven as bait. she used his friends as bait. she knew about the plan, she even told eddie that she did. how could he be this stupid? he didn't think too much of eleven being gone. all he was thinking of was that stupid bracelet.

"why are you doing this to me?" eddies voice cracked. every time he was close to being happy, sonia had to fucking destroy it.

"because i love you." sonia said, her voice struggling to stay even.

eddie shook the bars, rage deep within him. "bullshit!"

the fat woman jumped, not expecting her son to rebel.

"that's bullshit, sonia! you never cared about me. all you ever cared about was money. money, money, money. you would do anything for that. so when you found out i had powers, you thought it could benefit you. you sold me out. literally. was the money worth it? seeing your son suffer? was it worth it? because i can't ever look at you the same. it probably doesn't even matter to you, because you're so sick in the mind. you probably enjoy all this. but you can't fucking say that you love me. because that's bullshit." eddie ranted, his breath short.

sonia was taken aback. she didn't think that one phrase would set her son off. she didn't know he had that much rage in him. she was glad though because it would benefit her in the end. she could use that rage to her advantage. and she would.
