finneas was your best friend and you were his. ever since you could remember, finneas was always there for you. you were his girl best friend but billie was more of a best friend than you could ever be.

when billie hadn't been born yet, finneas always went to you for something. maybe it was for a play buddy or just to jam out on the piano. it didn't matter what it was, you were always there for him and he was always there for you.

your parents and his parents were the bestest of friends which is how you both met. you were sitting next to your mom at finneas parents house as they talked and all of a sudden, finneas sat down next to you. he didn't say anything, he just sat there. you looked at him for a bit but then looked away. he looks at you and smiles.

"hi, i'm finneas! what's your name?" he says cheerfully.

"my names y/n." you say shyly. you didn't have any friends at the time and you were incredibly shy.

"do you wanna be my first friend?" he asks and you smile. you nod and say,

"sure, let's be each other's first best friend." you say and then you both run into his room.

and in the next year, billie was born and the three of you were the golden trinity. you all did everything together except go to school because billie was home schooled and finneas wasn't.

you both studied together, sit next to each other, cheat off each other and ate lunch together.

you were there when finneas had his first girlfriend and his first heartbreak. you were his shoulder to cry on but he most often would go to billie in these situations.

although finneas had girlfriends, you hadn't had your first kiss yet or your first boyfriend. you started to think that maybe you would be better off if you didn't have a significant other.

you were in your bedroom when finneas called you. you didn't answer the first time because you were too concentrated on your homework. he rang a second time and you rolled your eyes but answered anyway.

"what's up?"

"i'm going to make music." he immediately says.

"wow, that's great." you say with a smile.

"let me know when you've recorded your first song." you say.

"of course, i'll talk to you later." he says and you didn't have a chance to respond. you just chuckle to yourself. you didn't think that he was actually being serious about it but he did have a really good voice and you knew that maybe one day, he would make it.

fast forward to the present time and you were just chilling on your sofa, listening to finneas' new ep. he made it and you couldn't be more proud.

things have changed so much and you couldn't help but feel like you had no purpose anymore. finneas got a girlfriend last year and you had met her. she was the nicest human being you could ever imagine and was perfect for him. but the thing is that, the two of you stopped hanging out. he drifted away from you and he stopped calling you everyday to check if you were okay.
