Dipper POV

I woke to sunlight in my eyes. I rolled throwing my arm over my face, I was still exhausted, though my still asleep brain hadn't yet placed why.

I rolled again, my bed- or what I was laying on wasn't that comfortable, it was hard and unforgiving. I dropped my hand to it with a ground and felt grass beneath me.

Confused I creaked one eye open to find that I really was outside laying in the grass.

Suddenly my brain woke up in alarm reminding me quickly why I was outside, and exactly where I was.

I looked to the statue, I caught a glimpse of something over my shoulder.

Sitting up quickly I spun to face it, clutching the journal to my chest.

It, was a man on his knees, his arms lay in his lap, he looked at ease but his eyes sparkled with what looked like excitement.

"Your awake." He hummed, his voice was deep and smooth, but even though it sounded deep it felt light, he spoke in barely a whisper but the words still rang clear to me.

Like I had done to him, he eye'd me, I watch his gase fall on my journal and harden. I gripped it closer to me, almost like I wanted to engulf it in my stomach.

He laughed lightly, "You know what you have there don't you." His tone was light but there was venom behind it.

My instinct was to get up and run from the man, or to tell him to fuck off. But that stare, the one that keep flicking down to the journal in my arms.

"My journal?" I asked, but my words were wrong, his expression turned to one of rage and his hand tensed into a fist.

"That is not your journal!" he growled.

"No- I mean I didn't write it! I don't know the author, my sister fond it out here a few years ago and gave it to me! I've kept it on me everywhere I go so it's just habit to say its mine!" I squeaked jerking back from him, the words started falling from my lips and the man simply watched me still fuming. "If I could return it I would, but I don't know the author or even where she found it so I kept it. But if you want it you can have it, I've read every page, I know every word by heart now." This made his growling stop, but that couldn't stop the word flood pouring from me, "It doesn't have a name in it, but the information is fascinating, if you know the author I would love to speak with them about the creators, but I've been told I'm crazies and that I shouldn't come out here because it's dangerous. But until now I couldn't understand why, the place is beautiful and nothing bothered me last night. I mean I felt pretty safe until know, your scaring me. I'm sorry for upsetting you."

He simply watched as I continued to talk the look of anger completely gone from his face but that didn't stop the word vomit I was spitting at him, almost as if it were my brains way of warding him off.

Of course, all of that changed when he reached for me, flinched hard but still couldn't stop talking, now my rambling had turned into barely understandable pleads.

He continued to reach for my face, when I finally couldn't pull back any further he put his hand on my mouth.

"Shh, I have a question." He hushed me.

Staring between his hand and his face, I nodded. He waited a few more seconds before pulling his hand back and returning to how he was sitting before.

"Have your really memorized it all?" he asked.

I nodded slowly again, "Well most of it, almost all of it is written in codes and I could only creak a few of them, but I've memorized the other codes and when I have time I look into break them." I explained.
