Dipper POV
Mabel won't stop singing. The bus ride is too long for this.
I leaned into the window trying to block her out by pushing my nose deeper into the book.
"You've read that like a gazillion times! Why do you keep reading it?" Mabel chastised hitting my shoulder.
"This is the first time we are going back to Gravity Fall sense I got it, I have to reread it before going back into those woods." I mumbered flipping the page, most of what was on here at first look was gibberish, but after way to many sleepless hours I had deciphered most of it but come parts where completely lost to me. I had covered the pages in sticky note and taped pieces of loss paper to is because I refuse to write on the pages.
"Mannnn, you a fucking nerd." She hissed before putting her headphones back in to sing along again.
-timeskip-
The bus stopped abruptly. "Welcome to Gravity Falls!" was printed on a rusted old sign the bus stopped next too.
Shaking Mabel awake she grumbled grabbing her bag and slugged to the front of the bus and down the steps.
With the book tucked under one arm and my bag thrown over the other I followed her out of the bus, but was stopped at the door by the driver.
"Don't go in the woods kid."
"Why not, I've been in it before it's beautiful." I said feeling a little awkward.
The man glared at me, "you haven't been lately. Son you know what they call those woods now?"
I shook my head, Grunkle Stan didn't say anything about the forest having a name.
"God's Forgotten Forest. He's left, or gone mad, we don't know but the forest isn't safe for anyone so don't go in it. You understand?" he hissed his hand gripping the lever that opened and closed the door.
Mabel stood on the sidewalk looking in at me confused.
"Sir, God doesn't exist." I stated plainly before stepping out of the bus to Mabel.
"Don't say no one warned you kid." He shouted out the door before slamming it shut and driving off.
"Fucking weirdo." I huffed.
"Dip, what was he talking about?" Mabel asked.
"Something about the "God" of the forest leaving and the forest not being safe anymore. Say we shouldn't go in it." I explained and started walking us towards Grunkle Stans Shack.
"What really, that forest was so pretty last time tho, and it seemed so peaceful." She said skipping next to me.
"I don't know, rude old man. He could have been trying to scare us or something." I explained trying to wave the weird feeling the guy have given me. Even saying it I don't really believe it, the guy looked too concerned to be lying.
And what did he mean by God? Is there a God in those forest why is it not mentioned in the book, was the God the one who wrote it?
I was confused, even walking into town it looked... darker, even though the sun was bright overhead the building, trees, and even people looked gloomy.
When we made it to Grunkle Stan's we we were greeted by old friends.
"Dipper! Mabel!" Sues shouted bear hugging us. Mabel broke out in squeals and I couldn't help but laugh too and hug him back.
"Sues!" I shrieked as it became hard to breath.
"Bro! Let the little dudes Breathe!" a familiar voices shouted laughing over me and Mable's giggling.
