Chapter 18

I rolled my eyes and opened the room door and walked in. i kept my expression nuetral as i surveryed the room .It was beautiful....and huge. The walls were a ruby red with black wolves painted all over the walls. There was a king sized bed in the middle of the room . The floors were a black sleek carpet . I walked a little farther in the room to see a patio.

I set kaden down and he clung to my leg,"is this the room you give a prisonor?"

I looked back at Sean to see him watching me curiously as if he was trying to figure something out.,"yup"

I look beside the bed to see our belongings.

I closed my eyes and i heard Sean fidget slightly," ill let you rest. Dinner is downstairs at seven. Dont be late...or ill have to punish you ..princess" I could practically feel the smirk in his voice.

I turned around to yell at him but the door was already shutting softly behind him.

pfft... princess my ass.

I sighed and looked at kaden ,"well looks like we'll be here for a while buddy"

Kaden made a face and ran over to the wall putting his hand on the wall in awe. While he admired the walls i unpacked our things. it looks like well be staying here for a while anyway. I sat on the bed and rubbed at my eyes trying to keep myself alert. I pulled my knees up to my chest and turned to look at kaden.

I watched him closely as he stared at the wolves on the wall . Kadens shoulders drooped and he turned toward me.

My breath got caught in my chest as i looked at his face. Kadens beautiful usually bright light brown eyes were a dull brown and they were filled with tears. He bit into his lip hard as the tears rose in his eyes.

I walked over to him and knelt in front of him . I reached up and brushed his hair off his forehead,"kaden"

His little hands curled into fists and he lowered his eyes to the ground.

I pulled him into my arms and hugged him close humming quietly.

Kadens body was stiff and unyeilding against me as his body trembled .

"kaden" i kept my voice soft and soothing,"its okay...im here . ill take care of you"

Kaden shook his  head against my shoulder,"yes , i will be. im not going anywhere. ill never leave you."

Kaden looked up at me, unreasonable fear clouding his eyes,"you wont leave me ...like mama did?"

Shock shot through my body. he talked.

I smiled and cupped his face in my hands," i wont leave you. I swear on my life"

Kaden searched my eyes before throwing his arms around my neck tightly burying his tear-streaked face in the side of my neck, sobbing.

I rubbed his back and picked him up in my arms . I stood up and walked over to the bed laying us both down.

After a while his crying ceased and he lay exhausted in my arms. I looked down as his eyelashes flutterered closed and he drifted to sleep.

I smiled then looked over at the clock.It was 4:20 pm . Theres a few hours before dinner. A nap wont hurt .

I closed my eyes and continued to hold kaden. After a few moments i was entering the dream realm and escaping reality.

I felt someone shaking me and i groaned rolling over on my stomach.
