After Kabelo answered all of Dineo's questions, Sthandiwe and Dineo said their goodbyes and they left and got on the road. Though both of them were silent, a lot of thoughts were racing in their head but they did a splendid job at hiding their excitement. Kabelo had been thinking about that trip with her since he got a call from his sister two days before and all he had to do was just ask her. After a long talk through lunch with one of his officers he finally gathered the courage he needed to ask her to accompany him. The thought of spending an entire weekend alone with Sthandiwe made him feel all sorts of emotions, some he felt rather embarassed to feel as he felt his manhood harden from the mere look of her.
"What?" Sthandiwe asked noticing Kabelo's glare. "Nothing I'm just surprised you're so completely calm about this while your sister questioned a lot of things."
"What can I say I guess I'm a little more carefree and trusting than my sister." she replied trying to hide the obvious fact that she was attracted to him. "Or you could just confess that you find me irresistible like she said and fell for my charms." he smirked, looking considerably smugger. She smiled and rolled her eyes, thinking of challenging his opinion but decided to let it go. They exited the town soon and all that surrounded them was trees.Staring out the window, she watched as the surroundings became unfamiliar, as the buildings and homes disappeared to give a better, awe-worthy view of a green valley.
Kabelo then turn on the radio and classical music came blurring out.“This is pure heartache,” she muttered, distaste heavy in her tone. He lifted a brow and looked at her.
“Alright then, let’s hear what you’ve got,” he challenged. She smiled a little and began to run through the stations until she found the one she was looking for –947. Like expected the song playing was very well known to her…it was How will I know by Whitney Houston.
“How will I know if he really loves me …” she then looked at Kabelo beside her who just raised an eyebrow and smirked and she flushed sheepishly. After about an hour and a half later as the sun was setting, they finally came to a stop at a tall large black gate of slim but thick bars, still surrounded by thick trees. Other houses were visible nearby with spacious distance between them and they were truly beautiful. After he parked the car in the garage he took out their bags from the booth and opened the door to the kitchen of a stylish modern design with colourful kid decorations on top of of marble white and silver surfaces. Kabelo dropped the bags on the floor and smiled seeing Sthandiwe gape in awe scanning the kitchen.
"If it wasn't clear enough this is the kitchen "he said and they both laughed a little and she complimented it's elegance and class. "Yeah it is my sister's own design with a little help from the kids... interior design her passion before medicine." he informed her. "Wow she's really great."said Sthandiwe following Kabelo through the house. He kept showing her different rooms telling her which room belonged to who and it's purpose until they arrived at the door at the end of the passageway.
"And this is the master bedroom..."he said opening the door and turning on the lights. The room was magnificent with a large queen size bed with light green and grey covers and matching curtains. A small table with an office chair by the sliding door adjacent to the door and a small couch infront of the bed and a bean chair behind the door. On either side of the bed there was a door which Kabelo explained to be the walking closet, on the left and the bathroom on the right with a joint door to the closet. A large c shaped bookshelf hung on the wall facing the bed. The floor was carpeted in a beige coloured carpet and Sthandiwe had to admit it was simple yet glamorous. She was taken out of her thoughts by Kabelo closing the curtains to the sliding door.
"So...what do you think."he asked looking at Sthandiwe dumbfounded expression.
"It's...beautiful,"she replied honestly. "That's great cause we'll be sleeping in here." he said in a casual tone and Sthandiwe heart raced wondering if she heard him clearly when he said we'll be sleeping in here. The word we kept echoing in her ears.
