Chapter 8

It's been two weeks. I've passed my finals and now it's summer time.
Me and chan acted like strangers for two weeks straight. It was quite more  comfortable like that for me tbh. We greeted each other and sometimes smiled across the hallway but that was mainly it. Lucas was acting really strange. He watches over me like a hawk making sure I don't speak a word with chan. Even Blake was confused.
It was 10pm and I was heading home from the movies. It was quite dark and I was a little scared not gonna lie. I was listening to music when I heard a strange noise. I listened closely.

"your time's up. Tell us who your boss is and where is located! Now!"
A harsh man's voice was heard from the alley not far from where I was. I was really scared but decided to listen.
"NO!"
I heard a slap.

Shit

"tell us now or we kill you!"
Another voice was heard.

Shit!

I don't know what happened but I started running to the alley.

"HEY! LEAVE HIM ALONE!"
The man schoffed.
"says who?"
"I DO!"
suddenly a man pulled out a gun pointing it at the poor boy. The boy looked really innocent and scared. His eyes were watery and were screaming for help.
I ran to him and pulled him by the wrist. We ran out not looking back at the guns pointed at us when I suddenly heard a gun shot. I screamed and feel on my knees covering my ears. I was so scared. My eyes were watery.
I looked up and saw

Chan?
He was smiling offering me his hand to help me up. I got up and stayed there speechless.
I looked to my left seeing the boy smiling at me.

"thank you"
The boy said.

"for what?"
"you saved his life. Thank you so so much"

Chan bowed down.

"n-no no don't bow it's fine"
"are you okay BTW?"
"yeah I'm fine.. Just a little scared.."
"hello I'm jongin! I'm chan hyung's parter- well not really partner. He's my boss I'm just the field guy even tho I'm not really good with guns not like hyun-"
"JONGIN THAT'S ENOUGH!"
"oh shit did I say too much again?"

I stood there shocked and mostly confused. When I suddenly noticed blood on chan's forearm. His jacket was cut and stained with blood. It looked like a bullet went thru the jacket. I widened my eyes and stayed stoned on the spot. I didn't dare to ask what happened.

Guns? Boss? Field? Wth is that supposed to mean?

"I-i think I'm just gonna head home."
I took out my phone and called Blake to come pick me up.

"chan you better go you don't want Blake or lucas to see you."
"b-but- nevermind.. Thank you again."
I smiled and left.

Chan's pov

Shit jongin said too much again. Now she probably knows what I do for living. I don't want to scare her.
But she was so brave to save jongin. I was watching from afar. I also saw her shrung down and scream when I shot the man pointing the gun at her.
Ahh I hope one day we can become friends again..

Jiwoo pov
I went inside.

I'm so confused. What did jongin mean by guns? And field and some boss? I'm kind of scared... T-the gun shot was pretty scary..

I took a shower and put on a hoddie. It was very late and I thought I should go to sleep. I snuggled under my blanket and hugged the pillow. I drifted to sleep.

I was walking on the street when I heard a noise. I looked back seeing.. A man with a mask. he suddenly disappeared and I saw chan he stood there looking happy opening his arms for a hug. I ran but I couldn't run i heard an echoing sound and a sharp pain cut thru my body as I fell to the floor.

"NOOO!"
I woke up soaked in sweat. It was 1:47am. I felt a tear slip down my cheek and I quickly turned my light on. I didn't know what to do.

Should I call lucas? No.. I don't want them to know what happened. But im too scared to go to sleep by myself now. What if?

Yes...

I put on my slippers and walked out on the hallway. It was pitch black and I was shivering. I locked my apartment door and knocked on the well known door across the hallway.

Door were opened by a sleepy messy haired boy.
"chan.. I'm scared.. Can I sleep here tonight?"
