A Force Like No Other (A Star Wars Cinderella Story) (REYLO)

Chapter 5

(I was originally going to continue with the Cinderella story; but I decided to take an unexpected turn with the story and write about Jade's training with Yoda. I'm going to try and write a quick summary of what happens. The (Cinderella) story will continue in Chapter 6.) :)

Jade and Maz arrived at the Jedi Temple in the city of Theed (capital of Naboo). She showed up wearing a black tank top with leggings and combat boots, as well as with her hair in a high ponytail. When Jade arrived, she was in awe when she saw the view, the architecture of the buildings, and of course the palace; which lived the king and queen. Even though her village was just outside the city, Theed was way more beautiful than where she lived. She would only visit the city to run errands for her stepfamily, yet she never truly had the opportunity to bask in the beauty in which this city beholds. However, Jade knew that she won't be able to come up more than she would like because she was too busy cooking, cleaning, and taking care of her stepmother and sisters.

They walked into a training room filled with lightsabers and practice battle droids. Maz told Jade to wait there as she went to get Master Yoda. Jade looked around the room and took everything in and looked down at her lightsaber, thinking of how her future will unfold. Jade wasn't nervous, she was eager to learn, except it won't be with her father; but with a Jedi master. Just then, Maz and Yoda walked in the room talking to each other and then stopped as Yoda came up and introduced himself to Jade.

"Jade you must be. Yoda am I" he said. Yoda was small and green, yet he was one of the greatest Jedi masters to ever live. If Maz wanted you to be the best, she would send you to the best Jedi living. He wasn't the most powerful Jedi; but he was the most knowledgeable about the force. Jade introduced herself to Yoda and then they started their training session. "Maz told me a lot she has, impressed am I" Yoda said. Jade nodded.

Yoda trained Jade for days, which lead to weeks, which lead to months, which lead to years. He taught her everything he knew. Such as, the ways of the force, telekinesis, his acrobatic agility, force valor, and all of the seven forms of lightsaber combat. Jade enjoyed and mastered Forms III (Soresu) and IV (Ataru). Soresu because she could easily deflect shots from any angle and Ataru because Jade wasn't only strong; but she was fast and agile. There would be some days where she would duel with Master Yoda. Jade lost the first few times, but then she improved. The other rounds would end with a stalemate because they were both perfect fighters and couldn't find any sign of weakness in one another. However, Jade wished one day that she would conquer and beat Yoda.

Once she mastered lightsaber combat, Yoda taught her how to use the force. It wasn't like combat where Jade was a strong and powerful pro; it was difficult because she had to use her feelings. The task was to use the force to bring the lightsaber to her hand. "Reach out with your feelings, you must" Yoda told Jade, repeating himself for the tenth time. Jade feeling exhausted said, "This is impossible. I've tried like ten times and it's still not working." "You have to have patience, only then you will succeed" Yoda said. "Alright, I'll try" Jade told him. "No" he said raising his voice at her. Jade turned to face him. "Do or do not. There is no try" Yoda told Jade. She nodded and reached out focusing on her lightsaber as she took a deep breath. The lightsaber started to violently shake and all of a sudden, it flew into Jade's hand. She looked at it in shock and looked back at Yoda. "Told you, I have" Yoda said with a smile on his face and let out a laugh.

Jade was then told to lift up Maz, Yoda himself, and larger objects like rocks and ships and she did them with ease. Maz and Yoda were shocked to see how quickly she did it in a small amount of time. Quicker than the average Jedi.

Jade arrived to the temple on her 18th birthday and greeted Yoda. "I have taught you everything that there is to know. One final test I have for you. One last duel with me; but the force you must use" he said. Jade nodded her head and ignited her blue lightsaber, as Yoda ignited his green one. Could this be the day where Jade finally beats Master Yoda? They both engaged in battle. It was a long one, considering that they were at a stalemate for most of the time, blocking, dodging, and flipping over each other to avoid their opponents' strikes. Yoda then brought the force into play and force pushed objects in Jade's direction. She was able to dodge and slice the objects with her lightsaber; but a big object came her way and knocked her over. Yoda stood there and laughed at her. Jade then came to realize that Yoda believed that she couldn't defeat him, that he was arrogant. Arrogance was his weakness. She was resilient, she wouldn't back down from a fight. Jade got back up and used the force to push that same big object toward Yoda. He never saw it coming and fell to the ground. Jade then ran and flipped toward Yoda and tried to strike him. He used his lightsaber to block the attack. They kept fighting until Jade knocked Yoda's lightsaber out of his hand and it flew  across the room. They both looked at each other and then used the force to try to get the lightsaber. It started to shake, yet it didn't fly to anyone, considering they are both strong with the force. Jade looked back at Yoda and saw him smirking at her. "There goes the arrogance again" Jade taught to herself.

Jade then grew a determined look on her face and then Yoda's lightsaber flew to her hand. She stood up and as Yoda began to stand up, he froze in his tracks and fell back on the ground as Jade pointed both lightsabers to his chest. Yoda put up both of his hands and said "Surrender I must. Won you have." Jade turned off both lightsabers with a look of disbelief.

"Congratulations, a Jedi knight you have now become" he said. Jade smiled, she finally defeated Master Yoda after all these years. "Everything, you learned. My training required, no longer. Powerful you have become. Now go and pass on what you have learned and only then you can become a Jedi Master. Contact you through the force if in trouble am I" Yoda said smiling. Jade then kneeled down in front of Yoda and thanked him for everything and smiled at him. Yoda bowed his head to her and congratulated her once again. Jade then took her stuff and waved goodbye to Yoda and made her journey back home.
