chapter 40

Eva's pov:

i stared at Nickolas who stopped moving all of a sudden , i couldn't see who had opened the door , since nick was blocking the whole view , i felt a shiver down my back as  the room dropped a few degrees , i could fell Nickolas's hand tighten around mine and a bad feeling started arising inside of me .

i pulled nick's hand a bit , hoping to calm him down as i moved past him i saw a middle aged man who was wearing a simple gray shirt with a black suit , he had a huge bully in front of him and his eyes were sinister with a bit of silliness in them , a part of me knew that this man was bad news , i could feel nick staring at him with a killing intention in his eyes , i almost let my guard down and let my instincts make me turn as cold as Nickolas but when joseph walked in i calmed down a bit 

"sorry sir , i tried to stop him , but he wouldn't stop !" i looked at the shivering joseph in front of me and sighted.

"it's okay joe , you should go , we would call you if need anything " joseph looked at me with gratefulness in his eyes as he left the room and closed the door , i heard a low laugh which wasn't real at all , it was full of sarcasm 

"so is this the girl who is making my ruthless niece become human again ?" the man said while looking at me , he took a step closer towards me with lust in his eyes , he tried to intimidate me , but he failed miserably as i have seen worst that him , i turned my eyes cold and before i could speak or move i felt nick moving me behind him and stepping in front of me.

"get the f*ck out of my building " nick said with venom pouring out of his mouth , as i kept staring coldly at the man in front of me , i saw him staring back at me as if he was getting more aroused , i looked at him with disgust as he muttered softly under his breath 

"beautiful , mine !" i looked at him with a same look i give to my pray before i kill them , if nick wasn't here i would have probably shredded this piece of shit to pieces 

"get out now!!!!" i heard nick scream as a couple of veins popped in his arms and neck 

"okay , okay calm down , i just heard that Leena wake up , so i wanted to see how she was doing !"  the man said as he waved his hands and took a step back , i felt nick let go of my hand as he moved towards the man with big strides and held his collar and slammed him to the wall 

"don't you dare and mention my mother name on those dirty lips , or believe me i will make it as it was your last time your talking at all " i took a step towards nick and held his hands that were almost choking the man in front of me , i couldn't understand what was going on , but a part of me knew that this man had done something to hurt nick and his family , and the fact that this man was part of his family is even more obvious 

"Nickolas , let go of him , your gonna kill him  " as i saw that my touch or words were helping , i calmed my self down as i moved closer and held both of nicks hand and tried again 

"love please let him go , he isn't worth it " as i called him love , i felt his hand loosen up and suddenly the man fell to the ground , the man was panting and gasping for air , while nick was looking at me with a gentle smile , after a couple of second nick walked to his desk and called a number 

"ask the security to come and escort my uncle back "i saw the man stand up , and fix his clothes as he said before leaving 

"we will meet again my dear niece , but next time , you will be Laing beside my dear dead brother" as i heard the man words i felt my body shock with heat , i wanted to kill him , i wanted to pull him back and making him regret the moment he even decided to appear in front of my eyes , but the moment i tried to walk behind him , i felt two arms ingulf me in a hug "

"love he isn't worth it " as i heard Nickolas reaped my words i wanted to laugh , i calmed down as i chuckled 

"are you using my words against me boss ?"

"yes i am !" i laughed at him as i felt his calm demeanor back, " my girlfriend is scary when she is mad , i should probably never piss you off " he said as he laughed 

"yup , you shouldn't piss me of , or i knew some torture techniques that can blow up your mind " i said as i smirked at him , but deep down i knew that what ever this man will do to me , i can never hurt him , but that doesn't mean i can get bullied easily 

"yes , yes , ma'am , i will never make you mad " nick said as he chuckled and pullded me closer to him , it took us a while before we stopped laughing and at that moment i couldn't help but ask 

"nick , who is that man ?"
