"Hey Jane? You there?"
asked my grandma.
"Yea mum. What? Any news about dad?"
replied my mum.
"Your dad has been tricked."
"WHAT!? What do you mean by that?"
"Well, he didn't even need to do angioplasty or the bypass surgery from the start because the blockage wasn't too bad."
"WHAT?! Are you serious?!"
"Yea. Well, the doctor was trying to cheat your dad out of his money."
"Oh my god. I'm pretty sure this has happened to you with the same hospital right?"
"Yea, that time when I had a stroke, he gave me medication to give me cramps. Every I went to see him, he would reduce the cramp dosage and it would make me think that I'm getting better and he would have cheated me out of my money. And then I would go and advertise for him and say things like how he is such a good doctor."
"Oh my god, mum. Don't ever go to Malacca Hospital again. They're going to keep on cheating people out of their money."
"Yea I know now. Now, your dad and I go to Muar Hospital."
"Ok then. Look after yourself mum. Bye"
"Ok bye."
I had overheard the whole conversation as my mum was calling my grandma in the living room and I was watching tv.
If I had the means, that doctor from Malacca Hospital who was treating my grandpa, Doctor Ang, would have already been dead by my hand.
Nobody cheats my family and gets away with it, especially not some stupid, greedy doctor in Malaysia.
Nobody.
