Yuzuru Hanyu is freaking adorable and I(Javier Fernández) am in love with him.

Track 2: Brian the Father

"And now you need to use more power! More, more, more!" Brian screamed excitedly to his skater, Javier Fernández. 

Javier had been on fire ever since Brian had come back from his trip to Japan. He didn't know what had inspired him to be this hard working but it was great. So far they'd mainly been butting heads over little things but things seemed to be looking up for them. Brian didn't know how long that would last. 

There was no more stalling to be done. Brian would eventually have to tell Javier the truth. Brian thought back to two weeks ago. 

The meeting had been going well, everything was discussed with the use of a translator. Yuzuru hadn't said much throughout the meeting. He'd mainly been nodding and smiling a lot. Probably because his English wasn't great. When the meeting was finally over and Brian had shaken hands, stood up and was about ready to leave, Yuzuru insisted to tell Brian something first. 

To Brian's surpise, Yuzuru dropped to his knees and bowed deeply to him. "I really want to train with you and with Mr. Fernández. I will do anything for it. And I promise to always do my best. Please, allow me the honor to train with you." 

Brian got a little teary at the intense gesture of the kid. What mostly surprised him was his stature and maturity. Unlike 21 year old Javier, Yuzuru was only 18. For some reason he hadn't expected him to be the way he was at all. He was quite frankly amazed. He also knew how good of a skater he was. It really would be stupid to pass on this chance. So Brian changed his mind. 

Initially he'd said he needed some time (to talk to Javi about it) but that didn't matter. Things had changed. And just like that Brian wanted Yuzuru. And if Javi didn't like that, he'd have to deal with it anyway. So Brian said "You know what? I will." He squeezed Yuzuru's small shoulder and Yuzuru immediately began thanking him. A few minutes later contracts were signed. More hands were shaken and Brian had a new skater.

And now, two weeks later Brian was scared, for he had postponed this moment for too long. He had to tell Javi that starting tomorrow Yuzuru Hanyu would come train with him every weekend. 

How Brian had dreaded this moment. He knew Javi. He was overall very kind, relaxed and easygoing. But he was also incredibly stubborn, proud and competitive. Brian feared that might clash with Yuzuru who seemed to be the complete opposite of that. But, he had to tell him. 

Javier had just finished his skating training and was now in the locker room taking off his skates. Brian came in. "Listen, I have to talk to you." He said. 

Javier looked up, slightly worried. Even though he didn't always get along with Brian, he cared lots about him. Javier lived here all alone in Canada, his family still in Spain. Over time he'd come to regard Brian as a sort of substitute father. He really didn't want anything bad to happen to him. "What's going on?" Javier asked. 

"Yuzuru Hanyu is coming to train with us, starting tomorrow." Brian said bluntly. 

Javier let out a big sigh. So nothing bad was going on. He continued drying his skates. 

"Is that okay with you?" Brian asked more nervously then he should be. 

"Yeah, it's okay." Javier answered lightly. He got up and put his soakers on his skates. 

"Seriously? You're not upset?" Brian asked. 

Javier laughed his big, warm, welcoming laugh. "Why would I be upset? It's okay, don't worry." Javier chuckled and left the room. He didn't know too much about this Yuzuru guy. Of course he'd heard of him but he didn't know what kind of person he was or even what he looked like. 

Whoever this guy was, as long as he wasn't obnoxiously negative, he didn't really care. He just wanted to skate and improve his skills. He was just happy his coach was okay and that they would continue to skate together for a long time.

Yuzuru's bag was all packed up. He was going to spend the entire weekend at Brian Orser's for the first time. His mother insisted on coming with him but Yuzuru decided this was something he'd have to do alone. 

He was very nervous to meet Javier Fernández. What would he be like in real life? The truth is that Yuzuru had been obsessing over him for a long time now and he'd finally decided to just come in contact with him. He wanted to learn about how he got that much better in such a short period of time, and of course that had something to do with Brian Orser. 

He was interested in them both. He realized he couldn't decipher the magic code over his computer screen. He'd have to live it first hand. 

Yuzuru got off the plane and instantly felt the cutting-cold wind hit him. He was in Cananda.
