3rd Person POV

They carried him, kicking and screaming out of the collapsing house.

It took the four of them to restrain him from running back. Everyone was sad, everyone wanted to cry and scream and kick like Richie.

But they knew they had to be there for Richie, they knew they had to make he stayed alive too.

"No!" Richie kept shouting, "We have to go back! We can't just leave him down there!"

Beverly had tears streaming down her cheeks, but she kept her hands on Richie to hold him back.

Richie started to struggle less, but cry more. His sobs came out like screams of agony.

Finally, when they knew he wouldn't be able to run because of how hard he was sobbing, they let him go.

He instantly dropped to his knees.

"It's Eddie," He cried, "we can't leave him down there, we can't,"

They were all crying but trying not to too loudly. Richie losing Eddie meant something different. They all knew that.

"Come on Rich," Bev said softly, place a hand on his shoulder, "let's go to the Quarry and clean up."

Richie just gave a numb nod and shakily got to his feet.

All he could feel was the pain, the pain of having Eddie ripped from his arms just as they had realized their love for each other.

We didn't even get to say I love you

A sob forced it's way out of Richie again. Beverly wrapped her arms around him as they walked.

"We didn't even get to say I love you," He whispered to her, his voice was shaky.

Bev put her head on his shoulder and rubbed his back soothingly, "I know Rich," she said softly.

He was starting to hyperventilate and she was trying to calm him down.

Finally they had gotten to the Quarry. Richie jumped in, not even thinking. Just doing.

If he thought he would remember how he bickered with Eddie every time they went to the Quarry, just to see his face scrunch up. He would remember fighting playing in the water with Eddie. And he would just want to go back.

Richie stayed underwater the longest after he jumped, numbly swimming for air. Hardly registering that he needed it.

Every time he closed his eyes he would see Eddie lying there, blood soaking into his shirt, smiling faintly at him. Eddie had saved him, but not himself.

Soon the rest of the losers left living embraced Richie in a group hug.

"It'll be okay Richie."

He swore that it was Eddie's voice in his head saying that.
