Chapter 20: Bonfire

"Leave me Amber. Leave me."

"Chron?" she turn her back and began walking- away. "Dont leave me Chron!" I sob. I brushed my tears away trying to grab her but everytime I did, I couldnt. She's fading away. I cant explain.

"Amber." I brush my eyes. I felt the wet thing on the back of my hand. I slowly open my eyes to adjust in bright light. "Having a bad dream?" a white girl asked.

"Ghad!" I shouted. "You scared the hell out of me! Get out!" I yelled. she pouted.

"Is it not right to check on you when your seriously having a nightmare? oh - daymare rather. Its not a dream right? Dream is just for nice d--dream?" My forehead wrinkled and so as she. She looks confused. This Hera girl is mental. I can say it. She smiled. "Before i forgot. Kuya Lynder told me to tell you that-- ano nga yun." She scratch her head. Lices. I bet. "Yeah. Have a coffee at the beach." she winked. I beckoned.

"O sya. Layas." She walked out bouncily. "Yun lang pala sasabihin. Tch. Na drain utak ko dun ah." I stand and dash towards the bathroom before anyone snatch it. I evilly laugh when its deserted. Bwahaha.

After my morning rituals I grab some sterelized milk from the fridge.

Shorts, tank top and sneakers.

Bingo.

Lumabas na ko ng beach house. Malayo pa lang ay natanaw ko na siya. (a/n: Di ko maintindihan tagalog ko. Lol)

"Solitude?" sabay upo ko sa tabi niya. Ang sarap ng simoy ng hangin. Linaro-laro ko ang puting buhangin sa kaliwang kamay ko.

"Did she told you that were having coffee?" He sounds annoyed.

"Yeah." I sipped my milk. "Ill still drink that coffee." tinapon ko ang empty can ng sterilized milk sa malapit na basurahan tsaka kinuha ang tasa ng kape na nasa tabi niya. He smiled.

"I have two brothers." He muttered.

"Did I ask?" I retorted.

"Were dating, right?"

"Are we?"

"We kissed" he scoffed.

"Yeah. Before I knew it." I laughed. "Im beginning to think that were not Filipinos" I chuckle.

"So, yeah. I have two brothers. The Oldest, at California. The youngest is in Missourri, he's into Hera."

"You mean her?" Tinuro ko si Hera na masayang masaya na nakikibasaan kela Sean at Meriel sa beach. Ang weird lang. Palagi siyang nakaputi. Baka mapagkamalan siyang White lady. Which is so true. Haha.

"Yeah. Kaw naman. Share"

"Were Orphans." I murmured.

he nods.

"Change topic. I think you would cry any minute now." he chuckled.

"Baliw." I nudge him. "I love black." I muttered

"Which is an understatement." he retorted. "I can still remember, at school you always wear black shirts with statements printed on it." he smile. "Sometimes i cant stop thinking that maybe dread looks suit you."

I frown and what happened next was totally unexpected.

He push me making me fell on the sand.

"Hey! Nasa public tayo Gago!" I tried to push him but he didnt budge. He is too strong.

"Can i kiss you?"

"And now youre asking." I laugh. He smirk and slowly cut the space between us. I close my eyes.
