Ch. 3: Enter Rimba

After the 3-days vacation Arang come back to the military training camp. Greeting his roommates and exchanging some stories of their vacation, Arang and the other cadets are gathering in big hall once again. The head instructor and the other instructors are already waiting for them.

"Hello everyone, welcome back." The head instructor greets the cadets.

"As you already know, our government already installed some gaming capsules here in our camp. You can check them later. Now I want to inform you the rules about the gaming sessions as part of your training here." The head instructor continued.

"First of all, you will be required to log in and play for 6 hours everyday in addition to your military training. So after finishing your training at 5 P.M., you have 1 hour to handle your business and having dinner. After that you will have to play from 6 to 12, everyday." The head instructor calmly stated. There are some murmurs from the cadets.

"Attention!" The head instructor bellowed before continuing.

"Every cadets are required to reach a minimum level 200 when he/she finished the service duty, so you won't be useless when the country actually need you in the game. How you reach it, or how you choose to play is up to you. The only thing matters is your level, but we expect you to help each other in the game if possible. Failing to reach the target at the end of your service duty will affect your score at the final evaluation and you might have to extend your service period up to 6 months. Your group lead instructor will brief you more details later."

Back in their group training area beside the dormitory, the female instructor shows the cadet the gaming capsules location and told them that they can choose the capsule in the camp. She then remind them that they are not allowed to play in a private capsule or gaming room outside the camp during their service duty period, even when on vacation. Failure to do so will results on penalty.

After the day training, Arang is now ready to enter his gaming capsule for the first time. He lay down in the capsule, close the lid and iniate the connection.

"Rimba." Ever since he knows about the government program and remembering the fact that the game is based on Borneo island of the past with jungle and forest, Arang already decided on this name. Rimba means jungle.

A 3D image of Arang (or Rimba) is shown. Arang found out he can adjust the appearance by moving the slider corresponding with each part of his appearance or he can also just speak the change he wanted. The AI will adjust it for him. Arang decide to make his hair longer, reaching his back. He always wanted to have a long hair, but unable to have it since most people still associated long haired male as a bad guy. Now that he have the chance he definitely will have it. Thanks to his training in the last 6 months, his physique has improved and doesn't look skinny anymore. Arang satisfied with adjustment.
