I'd walk through fire for you

Just let me adore you

Amelia stared amused at Marilla fussing over Anne as she turned bright red, embarrassed that her mother was all over her in front of Amelia and Gilbert. Amelia clutched her bag, smiling sadly as she missed the times her own mother treated her like that, worried that anything could happen to her sweet blonde daughter. Gilbert chuckled beside her, offering to carry her bag inside the train. She shook her head, muttering softly. "I can do it myself." Gilbert raised his eyebrows, scratching the back of his neck awkwardly. "Never said you couldn't."

Amelia hummed contently, as she turned around and boarded the train, leaving Anne with the Cuthberts' to bid their goodbyes. She already bid her goodbyes to her father, him not being too worried as she had gone to Charlottetown multiple times.

She took a seat next to Gilbert, as Anne took the seat in front of them, quickly getting absorbed into a book she had brought to read on the way, leaving Amelia and Gilbert to make conversation. "I found it quite amusing the way Miss Cuthbert fussed over Anne." commented Gilbert, chuckling when he earned a glare from the red head. Amelia bit down a laugh, nodding. "Don't you sorta miss it?"

She didn't have to explain it twice, as Gilbert nodded, biting down his lip in focus, remembering the jolly times next to him.

Amelia combed her short hair with her fingers, looking at her reflection in the window. She had kept the shoulder length, quite liking the lightness and its unusual, making her pop out from the rest. And that was something Gilbert admired about her, how she defied society's expectations and was still humble and down to earth.

Seconds turned into minutes, and soon Gilbert found himself drifting off to a light sleep, his head lolling over and soon he dropped off on Amelia's shoulder, who nearly let out a shriek of surprise, turning her head to look at him. She smiled softly, lifting her hand and taking a black curl of his face, admiring his peaceful look. She heard someone clear her throat and looked forward and turned a soft red when she saw Anne staring as she wiggled her eyebrows.

Amelia pursed her lips, shaking her head as Anne made kissy faces, reaching out to try and stop her. A small gasp was heard next to her and she realised she had shaken Gilbert's head off her shoulder by accident and he had now woken up. Amelia was soon tripping over her own words trying to apologise, as Gilbert smiled tiredly, waving his hand to stop her worrying. "We're nearly here Amy, don't fret about it."
