Darien wakes up the next morning. His alarm hasn't gone of yet, but the shouting downstairs makes enough noise to wake him. He stands up from his bed and walks to Lenari's closed room door. He knocks on it once.

"Lenari?" He asks. When she doesn't reply he walks down. His mom and dad are standing in the living room. Facing each other.

"A chicken!?" His mother asks. "Yes Marianne, a chicken." His dad replies as if he has said that same sentence for the past few minutes. He probably did.

"And you still let her sleep in the same house as us?" Darien's mom asks in disbelief. Her eyebrows are raised, her eyes are big. "Yes." Is his father's reply.

His mom sighs before turning to Darien. Her eyebrow lower again and she closes her eyes for a second. "Darien, can you get the vampire for me?" She asks.

Before Darien can answer Lenari already enters the room. "You asked for me." She says before brushing past Darien and stopping in front of his mom.

"Yes, you will keep an eye on Darien today." Darien's mom says. Lenari's head turns to the right a little. "Doesn't he have school today?" She asks.

His mother nods before saying "Exactly Lenari." Lenari's eyes widen a bit. "I will not bodyguard that helpless human." She says.

He doesn't know why, but her calling him a 'Helpless human' hurt him. He thought she was starting to like him. Well, it was a vampire after all. He could've seen this one coming.

"Lenari," Darien's dad said with a stern look on his face. "You will. I already called the school and told them of your arrival. The children never heard your story and the teachers will keep their mouth shut." He says.

Lenari's head shoots up. "They haven't heard our story?" She asks. Darien's father just shakes his head. "Get ready you two. School is starting soon." He says before walking into the office.

His mother walks away too. Lenari sighs before walking passed Darien again without even giving him a look.

"I am a sevenhundred year old vampire, for Satan's sake." She murmurs before walking up the stairs. Darien follows her up those stairs and walks into his own room.

He grabs some of his favorite clothes and puts them on. He hears his mother walk into Lenari's room, her little heels leaving noises all over the place.

Her voice can be heard through the wall, but Darien can't make out what she says. After he is done he walks out of the room and downstairs again. In front of the door stand Lenari, her skin a normal pink-ish colour.

She scrunches her nose a little. "It itches." She says to Darien's mother, who is standing next to the door, ready to bring the two to school.

"You will need to wear it though. This make-up will only be a diguise." She walks to the door ad opens it. "Oh," She says while turning around to face Lenari.

"You're name will be Vanity from now on." She adds. Lenari's eyes widen and it looks like she would kill Darien's mom, but something stopped her. She looked at the ground again.

"Well, get in the car guys." The woman says. They all get into the car. Lenari and Darien on the back seat together.

Lenari looks out of the window absentmindly. Darien looks at her. He had to admit that she was truly beautifull. Her brown hair was tied into a ponytail.

Lenari let out a little sigh before turning to Darien. "So, you ahve any friends?" She asked, probably just to get a conversation going. Darien nods. He has two good friends.

William and Josh had been his friends since their first year at the large school. William with his middle length dark hair and his dark brown eyes was kind and nice to everyone.

Josh on the other hand could be quiet rude. He wuld always flip his blonde hair that reached his ears and close his right blue eye when he made a stupid joke.

His infamous jokes that everybody laughed because. It didb't matter how stupid they were, everybody was already rolling around the floor because of them.

Darien was looking forward to introducing them to Lenari. She looked like a seventeen year old, but -As Darien had just heard- She was sevenhundred.

That would be one of the oldest vampires he ever heard about. He would ask his dad a lot about her when school was over.

He needed to know who she was, what story she had and especially who this 'companion' of her is.

But all of that will be asked after school. Darien couldn't help but smile. He just knew that his two friends would like his vampire friend.

Although he couldn't tell them she was a vampire. He glanced at Lenari to see her sad eyes looking out of the window again.

"You will love my friends, Lenari." Darien says with a smile. " I am sure of it!"
