The Nightwalker. -Complete-

Chapter 8.

"Rise and shine, Darien." Lenari says while she shakes the boy awake. "We gotta go." Darien jawns before getting out of his bed. "Why so early?" He asks.

Leanri sighs. "Just hurry up." She runs downstairs and Darien gets dressed. He runs after her when he is done to see Lenari with a bag full of food and drinks. "We never know when we return." She says.

She grabs the car keys and walks out. Darien runs after her. They get into the car and she drives away. "Wait, shoudln't we have let my parents know?" Darien asks. Lenari smirks.

"I left a note."

After half an hour she parks the car somewhere. "Let's eat something." Lenari says while stepping out of the car. The roof is open so Darien can still talk to her. "What are you doing? The food is here." He says while pointing to the bag.

"No, that is your food." Another car is coming there way and Lenari starts waving to the guy. He stops and Lenari walks to the car. He opens the window of his blue car and they start talking a little.

Darien keeps staring at the two, but looks away quickly when Lenari pushes her fangs in his neck, killing him instantly. A little girl starts crying in the backseat, but Lenari just walks back to the car.

She starts driving again, and when he doesn't hear the girl anymore he opens his eyes. "Can you warn me next time?" He asks the vampire next to him.

"You could've been expecting that one." She says. "Where are we going to search first?" He asks while looking outside. "We need to find a man named Kelone. I laready spotted his scent so we'll find him soon."

Darien looks at Lenari at the mention of Kelone. "He is the author of that book, right?" He asks. Lenari chuckles. "When you said you read all of that book, I didn't think you really meant everything."

"You didn't answer my question, Lenari."

"Yes, he is the author, and a good friend. He will probably know exactly where Alucard is hiding." She keeps looking forward. After driving another few hours she stops at a gas station. "Stay in the car." She orders.

Darien nods and looks at how Lenari puts some gas in the car. He sighs. He is bored. Darien thought this would be way more exciting.

He still didn't really get why he had to come with her, but he was happy he didn't have to go to school tomorrow. Lenari walks inside the shop to pay for the gas and Darien opens the door.

He walks around a little. His legs are sore from sitting the whole time. He walks around the car a few times before sitting back iin the car. A woman walks to the car and stops when she is next to Darien.

"Boy, you need to get away from here." She says. Darien looks at her with an eyebrow raised. "Why?" 

"That girl you are traveling with... She is up to no good." She says. "Miss, I will stay with her if you want it or not." The woman scoffs. "Do you even know who she is?"

"He does." Lenari replies. She is standing next to the woman pushing her away from the car. The woman starts shaking a little before walking back to her own car.

Lenari gets in the car and she stops driving when they spot a little hotel. "Lenari," Darien says when they are about to walk in. "We have no money."

Lenari laughs again. "Darien, I am Lenari. I don't think they are going to say 'no' when I am in front of them." Darien nods. They walk in and the man behind the counter starts trembling already.

He is pretty young, probably around twenty years old. Lenari walks to the counter. "Hello kid, I don't have any money but I think that staying one night isn't going to be a problem, right?" She asks him.

"O-ofcourse n-n-not, Miss." He replies. Lenari smiles. "Thank you." He hands her the keys and they walk upstairs.

"Did you see him? He was terrified!" Lenari says laughing. Darien smiles a little. They enter the room and Lenari jumps on one of the two beds. 

Darien jumps on the other one. "I thought vampires don't sleep." He says. "Sometimes we do." She answers. They put the light off and slowly Darien starts falling asleep.
