Darien has been playing games for a few hours with Lenari watching him. She stands up from the bed she was sitting on and walks out of the room. Darien pauses his game and looks at the door.

Lenari's brown hair dissapear from his view. He wants to stand up and run after her, but he doesn't. He saves the game and closes it before walking downstairs.

Lenari walked in the direction of her room, Darien reaches the livingroom and sits down on the couch. His dad is working, as always, and his mom is always shopping with friends this day.

Darien lays down on the couch. He looks up at the dark wooden ceiling. He perks up when he hears a sound in the garden. He knows for sure that his dad isn't outside and Lenari is upstairs.

He stands up and walks to the back door that is located in the kitchen. He looks outside, but doesn't see anything. He runs to the hallway. "Lenari!' He shouts. "Lenari! There is someone outside."

She doesn't reply. He walks back to the door. He hears a chicken. It is making so much noise that Darien thinks it is getting killed. When Lenari doesn't show up, he gathers all the bravery he can find and opens the door.

His eyes widen and he backs away a little. There she is, Lenari. Her right eye is fully red now. Her left eye remains green.

Her fangs are showing. Darien has never seen such large fangs before. In her hands she holds one of the chickens. Some blood runs out of his neck. The feathers around it turned red.

Darien gasps. Lenari looks up. Her stern look softens. Her right eye turns back to green and the little red spot is back. Her fangs vanish inside her mouth and she drops the chicken.

"Lenari?" Darien asks. He feels some hot tears running down his cheecks. He doesn't even know why he is crying, but he is. Lenari walks to him. Instead of laying a hand on his shoulder- as he was expecting- She walks inside without even looking at him.

Darien looks at the dead chicken that lays in the grass. All the other chickens come out of hiding and start walking through the garden again. Darien walks inside too. For a moment, hethinks about telling his father.

He stops outside of the room his father calls 'The Office.' Darien wants to knock, but once again, he doesn't.

If he tells his father, Lenari will be in trouble. That would be unfair. She was probably just hungry. But at the same time Darien has to think about his one safety.

She is a vampire, and not a normal one. All the people that saw her were shocked, so Darien knew for sure that she was special. He walks upstairs and opens Lenari's door.

She is sitting on the bed. She is boucning up and down a little. It seems like she is very uncomfertable. "Lenari?" Darien asks. She looks up, but she looks down immediatly.

Her eyes are closed again. She is slightly shaking. He walks closer and she puts her hands in front of her, as if she is waiting for a punch to be thrown at her. "Woah, easy. I am not going to hurt you." Darien says.

He puts his hand on her shoulder and she winches before opening her eyes. They look at each other for a second, but they stop when they hear Darien's dad screaming downstairs.

Lenari jumps up and runs downstairs. In the blink of an eye she is standing at the end of the stairs. Darien start running down too. The screaming comes from the garden and Darien fears the worst.

He runs into the garden and sees his father with the dead chicken in his hands. Lenari stands in front of him, looking at the ground.

"Did you do this?" He asks while pointing at the chicken in his left hand. She only nods before taking a step back. Darien's father starts laughing. "Are you one of the Nightwalkers?" He asks in a mocking tone.

"You feed on bloody chicken and when you are done you shudder in fear. This is not how I remember you, Len." He says. Lenari looks up at the man in front of her.

Darien doesn't see the front of Lenari's face, because her back is facing his way, but he has a feeling that something bad is happening.

"Don't. Call. Me. Len." She says threathingly. She takes a step forward and Darien's dad drops the chicken. Darien runs to the two and steps in front of Lenari.

Her fangs are showing again. "Lenari, stop this." Darien says. Lenari looks down at the nineteen year old and sighs. She hids her fangs again and turns around.

She kicks one of the still living chickens and it let's out a suprised squeak. She walks through the kitchen door and probably upstairs.

Nightwalker. Darien needs to find out what that is. He also wants to know who this companion of Lenari. He walks inside too and sits down on the couch. He hears his dad enter the house too.

His dad sighs before dissapearing in his office again. Leaving Darien alone in the large room. Hehears the door open and his dad's head peeks out of the door.

"Darien, look out around that vampire. It was a chicken this time, but next time it could be you." His father warns before going inside his office again.

Darien will ask his father about Lenari tomorrow. And if he doesn't answer he will search through the books in their library.

Darien sighs when he thinks about tomorrow. It is a monday tomorrow, time for school...
