The next day Darien is waiting for Lenari and his mother in the hall. His mother opens the front door and walks to the car. Darien runs after her.

"Mom? Where is Lenari?" He asks when he gets into the car. "She is staying home today, sweetheart." She asnwers. Darien looks out of the window when the car starts driving. "Oh okay." He says.

Lenari roams through the house. She opens the doors. Bedroom. Bedroom. Lounge. Bar. Bedroom. Library.

She stops there. Lenari loves reading, so she walks in. There is a desk in the middle of the room. Large bookcases filled with books stand against the walls. Lenari scans through the books until she finds a tale that she knows way too good.

She grabs the book and sits down on the chair behind the desk. She starts reading, knowing what will happen on every page.

She reaches the last page with tears in her eyes. The last words let the tears fall. She closes the thing and throws it against one of the large bookcases in front of her.

It hits the ground with a thud. Lenari stands up and throws the chair to the ground. The papers that lay perfectly sorted on the desk are now sprawled across the floor.

She walks out and into her own room, slamming the door shut in the process.

Time passes slow for Darien. Especially because Josh and Will keep talking about Lenari. Yesterday was amazing for Darien and he really enjoyed it when Lenari was around.

He wasn't in love, he is just happy that he finally has someone who is there for him when his mom and dad are busy.

Josh is sitting next to him. "Where is the chick?" He asks Darien when they have history. "Home." Josh smirks. "Are we that annoying?" Heasks in a mocking tone.

"I'm not, you are." Darien replies. Both of them start laughing.

Lenari is still in her room. She walks around her room for a few times before dropping down on her bed. She sighs.

She knew she shouldn't have read the book. She should've ignored the red cover. Her eyes start to tear up again.

Darien sighs as he takes the seat next to Josh in detention. "Only because we laughed?" Josh asks for the third time.

"Yeah Josh, only because we laughed." Darien says. He starts drumming on the table with his fingers. He is already bored and the real detention hasn't even started yet.

The woman who will watch over them walks in and points at Darien. "Darien, you can go." She says. Darien smiles and waves at Josh before walking out.

He walks out of the school and sees Lenari. She is leaning against a tree and looks up when she hears the door of the school close. "What are-"

"Darien, we are going to have some fun!''

Lenari runs to the black car she parked a few meters away and gets into the driver seat. Darien gets into the car too. "Can you drive?" He asks.

"Sure do." Is her answer as she starts the engine and starts driving. They have some small talk while the radio plays some songs.  "Where are we going?"

"I need to find someone, Darien. And you are going to help me." She says. She stops the car in the middle of the road. "Aren't you?"  She turns to Darien.

He nods quickly. That is when he notices her eyes. The parts that used to be white are a soft red. Has she been crying? He thinks to himself.

"Ofcourse I'll help you, Lenari. Who are we looking for?" He says. She turns back. "Not now though. We will look in tomorrow. It is then that I will tell you who we are looking for." She says while turning th car around and driving to their home.

Darien just sits there, listening to the radio. Lenari only focuses on the road and soon they reach their destination.  "Oh and Darien." She says when they reach the front door.

Darien turns around to see Lenari with her index finger in front of her mouth. He nods and she gives him an approving nod.

She opens the door and dissapears upstairs. Darien walks upstairs too and makes his way to the library. He needs to fnd some more information about Lenari.

Especially now that they are going to find someone tomorrow. He opens the dark oak wooden doors that lead to the library.

The paoers that were previously on the desk are sprwaled everywhere and a book with a red cover has been thrown to one of the bookcases. Darien first collects the papers from the ground and puts them back on the desk.

Next he walks to the red covered book. He grabs it from the ground and reads the title.

"The Nightwalkers." He reads out loud.

Wait, isn't that what they called Lenari? He takes the book to the desk and starts reading the first few lines.

"They are the worst fear of this world. The best of the best. They are the beasts, the untameable, the one you don't want to face at night.

They glide in oceans of blood. The blood of the humans they kill. They are what we fear, and this is their story.

The story of the Nightwalkers.

The story of Lenari and Alucard."

Darien closes the book again. Alucard. Is that her companion? Is that the one she wants to find so badly? Is he the one that called her Len?

He shakes his head. If they are so important and so powerfull how can it be that their tale hasn't been told in History class?

Darien takes the book with him to his room and starts reading.
