When I got home I noticed that something was wrong with Shirou's mana circuits but decided to hold my tongue for now. As much as I wanted to always be there and help him, one day he would grow up and find his own family and need to figure this sort of thing out for himself but that didn't make it easy on me.
"I'm thinking that we should skip training today, you took a pretty bad beating out there Saber" Shirou decided with a frown, his uninjured arm against the doorway to our room.
"No, my injuries pose no problem, I am far more concerned about you Shirou, are you alright?" Saber asked.
"Me? I think I'll be okay" Shirou reassured.
"Well do not hesitate to speak up if you are in any pain" Saber frowned.
"Sure" Shirou smiled as we walked into the room, Saber going to her own room.
"Hey Angelica, I think I managed to fry my circuits somehow. Any idea how I would have done it?" Shirou enquired.
"When you made Kanshou and Bakuya when trying to versed Kuzuki you overpowered them in your rush and wanted to protect Rin and Saber," I explained.
"Do you know how to fix them?" Shirou questioned.
"Hm I do and I don't, every person's circuits are different and I haven't studied yours in a while so I would need to study them and take a core sample of your mana to find a solution" I told him and he nodded.
"In that case don't worry about it, I'll figure out how to fix it myself after all you are still helping me master my magic and you're helping me with the holy grail war. Plus I can't keep counting on you forever after all I need to learn some stuff on my own" Shirou said and I nodded, reaching out and ruffling his hair.
"I guess you do but since you are working it out yourself I'll give you this, it's medication to stop the pain, take it once a day until you fix the problem" I said and he nodded his thanks as he took a pill. That night it seemed to be a bad night as I was thrown into a nightmare straight off the bat. I was stuck back at fairy tail with the guild members there taunting me as they beat me."Angelica, Angel" a voice yelled and I shot up with a scream holding my chest.
"It's okay, I'm right here, it's all okay now you're safe" Shirou cooed as he held me to his chest so that I could hear his heartbeat to calm myself down.
"Shirou, Sorry I didn't mean to wake you" I whispered but he shook his head.
"It's fine really" he said and I nodded as I got up.
"You're not going back to sleep?" Shirou whispered since it was still the middle of the night.
"No but you should get some sleep" I told him and he nodded, laying down but not before shooting me one more worried look. Heading to the roof I changed into my golden armour and looked to see the stars. Even now six years after I escaped that torture, the memories still haunt me of that time when I was weak and useless. For the rest of the night I stayed on the roof looking at the stars until I watched the sunrise and decided to go train. I didn't see Shirou before he and Saber left for school because I was in the forest training. In fact I continued to train until I was so exhausted and sore that I couldn't even lift my sword or gather enough mana to summon any weapon. I would recover in about two hours so it was nothing to worry about but I felt better having driven those old memories away."Hey Angelica, your home now" Shirou greeted me and I nodded.
"Yeah and I found someone outside" I said, gesturing to Rin who was next to me looking angry.
"Lunch is on the table" Shirou called.
"I'll eat later" I called back, heading straight to the bathtub and running the water. Once it was finished running I added some lavender and cinnamon scents to the bath before getting in to relax my muscles and circuits.
"I hate to say it but in the end the only chance against Caster is direct brute force" Rin said as I walked into the kitchen.
"I'll take over cleaning, you go sit with your friends" I said to Shirou since I could tell while not giving him pain, his arm was giving him trouble.
"I believe so, there is a powerful barrier against spiritual beings surrounding that mountain. The front gate is the only way in, but there is also the option of asking Angelica for help," Saber said.
"You're on your own unless Shirou is in danger or I feel like helping since Shirou can handle himself, I'll only help if he calls for me" I said.
"But why?" Saber asked.
"Because she isn't part of the grail war, sure she is a magi but that doesn't mean she is a master or has anything to do with this war" Rin informed Saber.
"Anyway when we force our way into the temple Caster will be right there waiting for us" Shirou said, his eyes scrunched up and a frown on his face.
"That's right, eh wait a second why are you sitting so far away from us?" Rin demanded after seeing Shirou sitting far away.
"It's because you're sitting in the seat that he always sits in," I informed her.
"And without even asking me" Shirou pouted, putting his say in as well.
"So we all see the problem right? It will be tough to corner Caster once we're inside, if we don't play this right she might blow up Ryudo temple with all of us in it" Rin said, ignoring Shirou's pouting.
"That's true, Caster would do that" Saber agreed.
"That wouldn't happen though because Angelica wouldn't allow it to happen, she doesn't like people dying. She may seem emotionless but ever since she moved here not many people die from accidents as big as that" Shirou protested.
"Plus you really think that Caster would self-destruct if she was defeated?" Shirou asked.
"Yeah in a heartbeat" Rin fired.
"She would no doubt" Saber said in agreement with the other girl.
"You would be wrong, if you corner an animal or in this case a human they would come out fighting. Not only for their life but for something precious to them if they have that something precious, which I can tell you that Caster does have that precious thing. She wouldn't self-destruct, she would rather kill herself than lose something precious" I informed them.
