Chapter 16: Preparations

"You're back, Mistress, I was just about to go and find you," said Gilgamesh as soon as I appeared on the same street.
"I'm fine Gilgamesh, you of all people should know that I can protect myself" I said.
"Of course I do but that doesn't mean that I can't worry about my treasure," said Gilgamesh, gently grabbing one of my long pigtails and kissing it.
"You may see me as a treasure but I still don't need protection" I said as we headed towards the house.
"You're back Angelica, how's Lancer? Just in time for dinner" Shirou smiled as I saw they were having dinner.
"Yeah, Lancer is fine. I took him to Bazett who was his first Master before Kirei attacked her and took her command seals leaving her to die" I explained sitting down with Gilgamesh to have dinner.
"Hey Angelica, we have been talking," Illya said, making me look at them.
"Oh?" I asked.
"We have decided that even if it means you have to kill us servants, we want you to have your wish granted" said Archer and if I was a normal person with normal emotions I would be surprised but I wasn't normal so all that changed was a slight widening of my eyes.
"Why? I am sure you all have your own wishes" I said.
"Of course we do, but you see you have helped us so many times already that we believe it is only fair that you get your wish," said Saber.
"But your own wishes" I tried to protest as long as I had Shirou and his friends and in turn my friends were okay then I was fine.
"We have already decided it so there is no going back on it, sure it will hurt to lose them but we will still have our memories" said Rin looking at Archer.
"Exactly we won't ever forget them" smiled Illiya staring at Berserker.
"Wait, you are thinking that I need to kill the other servants?" I asked them, confused.
"Well of course, that is what you have to do to summon the holy grail" said Gilgamesh and I shook my head.
"No it's not, well it is a way to summon some sort of grail but not the true holy grail" I said. 

"Wait, what do you mean?" Illya questioned and I could understand that seeing as her body was meant to be the next vessel for the grail.
"Think about it, why would a holy grail which is meant to be a holy relic ask for people to kill other people?" I questioned.
"Well....that makes sense," said Shirou.
"Exactly the ritual of killing the other servants and using Illya's heart in a magi's body which summons the corrupted grail but I know a different way" I said and they frowned.
"You know this all along?" Gilgamesh asked.
"No, I didn't know until I faced Caster and I was going to tell you guys but then Shirou and Archer needed to fight each other and then Kirei attacked so I haven't had the time to explain it all to you guys" I explained.
"Then what do you need?" Gilgamesh enquired.
"A blood sample from all the servants that are left and then a core sample of their mana from each master and servant" I said.
"How exactly does it work?" Rin asked and I looked at them.
"The mana binds together to make the grail and then the blood fills the cup to the top with mana meaning that it has the magic to grant any wish no matter how big" I told them.
"Here" said Archer, holding his arm out.
"If it wasn't for you, Shirou and I would have never survived both in his life and my own," said Archer and I nodded, opening a gate of Babylon and getting out a briefcase that already held the blood and magic core samples of Bazett and Lancer. 

"Hold still" I said as I got a needle out and drew the blood into a vial placing it in the briefcase.
"This is going to hurt more than the needle" I warned as I gestured to him to take his shirt off. Blinking Archer blushed a little before taking the shirt off, I guess because there were so many people.
"Be ready" I warned as I grabbed out a device that had a clear square on the end of it.
"Gah" grunted Archer and I pulled the square off the back of the device and placed the square in the briefcase.
"Well I'll go next" decided Rin and I shook my head.
"I'll do the males first and then the females afterwards seeing as for the core samples people have to take their shirts off so I can get to the chest, males showing their chests are different to females," I said and she blushed but nodded.
"Shirou" I said and he put his arm out making me get another needle and take another cube.
"That felt like it was ripping something out of me," said Shirou, rubbing his chest as I changed to the cube once more.
"You know Mistress, if you wanted to get me naked all you had to do was ask" teased Gilgamesh.
"Just take your shirt off" I sighed, not even reacting to the tease, making Gilgamesh sigh and take the shirt off.
"Hold still" I said as I got the core sample and then took a vial of blood.
"Illya I am sure Berserker knows what I am going to do but I really don't want to fight him so keep him calm" I said and Illya nodded, smiling at Berserker and gently holding his hand. I tried to be as gentle as I could and surprisingly he didn't even move until I was finished and then he reached up and patted my head.
"He likes you," smiled Illya.
"I'm glad, I'll start with you Rin if you don't mind" I said as I went to a different room. Once I was done with Rin, I done Illya and Saber all that was left was myself and of course Caster and Kuzuki.
"Do you want me to do your core sample?" Shirou offered.
".....No, Gilgamesh can you give me a hand?" I enquired.
"Of course Mistress," smirked Gilgamesh. 

When going into the other room I showed him how to work the device before I changed my clothes using the gate of Babylon changing into a long sleeved shirt with a hole in the chest.
"That's cheating Mistress, here I was looking forward to seeing your golden body" pouted Gilgamesh.
"That is not going to happen" I said as he placed the device and took the sample as I changed my shirt again.
"So you have the samples and blood so what now?" Gilgamesh asked.
"I still have to see Caster in the morning before I draw the magic circle and then start the summoning" I explained as we walked in.
"So it won't be ready until tomorrow? Want to let us know what your wish is?" Archer asked.
"I am going to undo all the pain that these grail wars have done and make sure that it doesn't happen again" I told them.
"Something tells me that it is more complicated than that" said Illya and I shrugged.
"Don't worry, for now I'm going to be heading to bed after I talk to Shirou" I said and Shirou nodded following me up to his room.
"I'm going to move back into my own room" I said and I saw his eyes widened in shock.
"Wait a minute, what about your nightmares? You can't stop sleeping again Angelica, your magic will spiral out of control again" protested Shirou and I shook my head.
"It's fine Shirou I have been doing rather well lately, don't think I have noticed the feelings developing around you" I said and he went bright red.
"What, I mean, how did" stuttered Shirou and I shook my head.
"We are always going to be siblings even if we aren't by blood, we aren't going to grow apart just because of this" I said and he sighed ruffling his hair and nodded.
"Okay but if you start getting nightmares again you have to tell me and I will sleep with you again" said Shirou and I nodded as he headed down to hang out with his friends while I grabbed my stuff and headed back to my room. 

"You're going to be sleeping in your own room now?" A voice asked and I turned to see Gilgamesh there.
"Yeah after all Shirou is growing up now and he will one day notice his feelings for Sakura, Saber, Rin and more then likely Illya as well" I said.
"I have noticed the atmosphere around those women and Emiya so they are lusting over him but he is too dense and clueless to notice" chuckled Gilgamesh and I nodded.
"Unfortunately that is the way Shirou is," I said.
"And what about you? Are you perhaps in love with him?" Gilgamesh enquired and I blinked.
"No, that would be like dating my brother and that is not something that I am ever going to do" I said a bit disgusted with even the thought of liking Shirou.
"I'm going to the roof....Do you want to join me?" I offered and he smirked and nodded as we headed up to the roof. While up there I sat there lost in thought looking towards the stars while Gilgamesh got a jug of wine and a cup. "Would you like some Mistress?" Gilgamesh offered.
"No thanks I have to keep my mana completely clean until after the ritual, I have a job for you if you are up to it" I said.
"For you Mistress anything at any time" said Gilgamesh.
"I need you to find a ruby, an emerald, a sapphire and a diamond by tomorrow" I said and he smirked as he opened his gate of Babylon and put his hand in.
"Here you go Mistress, you don't have to look for them. I have plenty of gems in my gate," said Gilgamesh and I nodded.
"Mine is mostly money for my riches," I said, taking the gems. Placing the other three gems in my lap I held the ruby and started to push my own mana into the gem.
"What are you doing?" Gilgamesh questioned while taking a sip of wine.
"I'm charging the gems with mana so that tomorrow the ritual won't take so much mana, if not it will drain me of most of my mana and I would be in danger of dying from mana depletion" I explained to him.
"Your mana is the biggest amount of mana I have seen in this modern age and you are telling me that if you don't have all these mana core samples and charging these gems beforehand you would die? Just how risky is this ritual?" Gilgamesh demands with a glare at me but I could tell he was worried.
"Don't worry I am not going to die from something like this" I said.
"Are you sure? If you need I can cut off my mana supply since I am of the Archer class I have independent action meaning that I can hold out for at least a week so long as I don't use any mana" said Gilgamesh.
"No it's fine" I said as I switched gems. We sat in silence as I continued to charge the gems.
"So tomorrow you will get your wish granted and I will be gone" said Gilgamesh and I raised an eyebrow.
"I wouldn't say that," I said.
"What do you mean?" Gilgamesh enquired.
"You will see tomorrow since that is something I want to keep to myself" I said as I headed down to go to bed so I needed to rest my mana for tomorrow.
'It all ends tomorrow, all the pain and sorrow will be taken away and I can make sure that nothing like this ever plagues this world again' I thought to myself as I drifted off.
