"Is it really a good idea Bells? I mean we're 6th years, we have exams to worry about." It turns out getting everyone else to agree was harder than anticipated. "I'm not sure we have time, it's a great idea and all but..." Lily trailed off and began playing with the food on her plate.

When Bella has voiced her idea at breakfast the next morning she hadn't been met with the enthusiasm she'd hoped for. "What about you Sophia? Arron? Would you be up for it?"

"It's like Lily said, time is and issue." Sophia started. Arron stayed quiet. "We would love to do it, but it would be restricted."

"I get it, I'll find other people to do it."

"Don get us wrong we would absolutely help you, but don't you think this seems like a thing maybe 4th years should be doing? They don't have exams to think about, I'm sorry." Arron finally spoke. Bella didn't mention it again for the rest of the day until Draco pulled her aside after dinner and told her that McGonagall had said to maybe wait until things had died down a little.

Deep down she knew they were all right. Everyone in the school was talking about the Desth Eater Queen who got pregnant at 16, caused herself a miscarriage and married another man. What they didn't know what that her baby was alive and hopefully with her loving new family.

She thought of Laura often and after many meetings with Maybel over the following weeks she accepted that her idea was simply a way to get people to stop looking at her like a traitor. Of course the whole this was explained to Maybel excluding the magic. Just in plain old simple muggle terms.

By the time it got to November she was well on her way to redemption. Her idea abandoned for now she focused on her studies and battling her depression.

Also by the time it got to November the unseasonably cold weather had taken a turn for the worse. Some classes were cancelled in the lower parts of the building due to cold conditions making it impossible for them to keep working. Quidditch matches cancelled, first year flying lessons postponed. Draco hadn't taught a class in days.

They even had to move the Slytherins into the other dorms. They split them between the three other houses as the dungeons became inhospitable. There was ice forming on the ceilings.

This led to crowded dorms, loss of study time, which led to even more crowded dorms because people weren't going to classes. Bella and Lily has been bunked in with their dads, as had Starla, in order to give her bed to a Slytherin. Kirsty took it. Sophia was on a mattress on the floor of the dorm normally used by Lucy, Starla and 4 other Gryffindor girls. Arron was in a Hufflepuff dorm on another mattress on the floor. They were lucky, some were left with only a sleeping back and the floor.

Two weeks in to November it snowed for the first time. It had only ever been sleet, ice and frost. But now it snowed. And by snowed I meet full on ice-storm-blizzard. The winds were up to 80mph and temperatures were at -15oC outside but warmer inside.

By law if the inside temperatures are below normal room temperatures students must be sent home. As Hogwarts is a boarding school they just got sent back to the dorms. The house elves were working overtime in the kitchens as they opened the great hall 24/7 for hot chocolate not during meal times.

And then on the 16th of November 2024 the winds and ice got so bad one of the heating generators shut down. The one that took heat to all the towers. Including the Gryffindor Tower, the Ravenclaw Tower and the Astronomy Tower. All three were shut off and that meant there was 3 houses and one heated set of dorms.

They ended up using the great hall as a place for them all to sleep, with mattresses and sleeping bags arranged in rows on the floor.

"I remember doing this." Harry joked to Draco on the 4th day of the camping. "Not a very comfortable arrangement."

"No, I hate seeing the girls so uncomfortable. Especially since my room was suitable for sleeping in." Draco replied, they were sitting at the top table watching the hundreds of sleeping students.

"Why did Bella decide to stay here? I know my rooms inhabitable, but the dungeons are still getting heating, albeit not a lot but still."

"She didn't want special treatment."

"She's a strange one."

"That she is."
